The we are staying up thread

I think West Ham will get 7 more points, 4 out of Brentford & Saudi Sportswashing Machine and 3 v Leeds. We’ll need 9. Not looking good.
Surely their luck has to run out, the game yesterday had accidental clearances off the line, woodwork being hit and a certain penalty not given for blatant handball.

Yeah I only saw the MotD highlights of their game after I posted and it looked like they were really lucky to get away with a win yesterday.

3 wins and we’d stay up.

It’s easy to be overly optimistic of other teams results as they all just won. But I don’t think West Ham or Forest will reach 43 points.

2 wins, and it’s squeeky bum time.

If we can somehow win against Villa then for the first time I’d believe we can stay up.

We finish in the bottom three, but Maranakis is convicted of being a gangster, it comes out he blackmailed MGW and threatened his family to not join us, all the money he's spent at Forest was just an elaborate money laundering activity, and he wears a fake beard.

The PL relegate Forest to the Championship for the illegal activity.
And relegate them to Lge One for the beard.

Unfortunatey I think he has cut ties with Forest, at least on paper, to avoid a European qualification headache again in the summer

Villa need 2 wins to get guaranteed CL, shame they didn't get one of them yesterday
But are they really going to go full strength in 4 games in 12 days, doubtful
Depending how the 1st leg goes on Thursday they might have to rest some players for next Sunday

They don't, they're 8 points clear with 4 games left, so 1 win and two draws is enough. Plus, there's no way Chelsea are winning all 4 games.
I can't see them do anything besides rest players against us. They've gone over 30 years without a trophy. They really need to concentrate on winning Europa.

If Chelsea hold out, I wonder when we will play them as we're due to play them the day after the Cup Final

I read today that our game would be moved to the Wednesday night before the final Sunday of the season. Not sure if that’s definitely right?

Edit: Just looked at the remaining fixtures and that looks the only possibility.

West Ham’s next three matches are all tricky, and all four of forests are.

We will have a bit of confidence now we have that ‘no win in 2026’ monkey off our back. Villa will be concentrating on europa league and Chelsea are all over the shop

Win both our home games and a point at both villa and Chelsea and that should be enough

With our current GD advantage, we might even be able to get away with losing at SB (the more likely scenario, let's be honest), as long as other results go as you say. I think a minimum of 7 more points is a hard requirement, though.

West Ham have a good record against the Goons, who themselves don't look great. Saudi Sportswashing Machine are rubbish now and know Howe is a dead man walking. I'm not convinced the Hammers will pick up many points, but i wouldn't say so with any degree of certainty....

Must win game for N.ewcastle now

They will not be beating Arsenal or Saudi Sportswashing Machine away.

Also Leeds could get caught napping as could Forest with their fixtures.

I think we are being overly pessimistic with RDZ now coming in and we look better already. And overly optimistic when it comes to the other teams in the scrap.

The truth is we are all brick and down there for some reason and perhaps it’s our turn to go on a run.
I think it's understandable for people to be pessimistic (albeit not helpful)...as they have been waiting for a run, and it's just not happened.
Conversely our opponents have actually hit a run of form.

Those are the actual realities, and hence the matching emotions.
