***OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton, White Hart Lane, Sat April 18th, 5.30pm***

Absolute sickener of a result, to concede 2 goals in injury time after what I thought was a really good performance both technically and physically. Pretty much everyone was up for it today and you can't fault the effort, Bents looked really good especially considering it's his 1st game back and I'm not even a fan of his. Biss had one of his good games as well, showed strength and some decent passing.

Real downside was how poor Muani was, no point starting him any more. Can't stand such a lack of effort, Richi should have been playing instead.

If we'd taken 3 points would have given us so much confidence going to Wolves but as it is I'd expect at least one (likely both) of West Ham and NF to pick up points this weekend.

We have to hope Palace win on Monday. Have to. If Palace and Wolves were to win, it'd be a massive lifeline...this is going to the final game of the season isn't it...

Just watch it back. If you still want to blame Pedro Porro for that goal then I am not sure what to say.
I would say Porro does not need to be drawn into the centre as Danso is covering the player, the other player drops off so VDV doesn't need to worry about him running past. Porro ends up doubling up but ineffectively and ends up leaving the outside man, the attacking aka his man free. I personally prefer my FBs to deal with offensive threats out wide, rather than being dragged inside and then leaving a danger man free and in tons of space. It is he job after all.

We play like that and we beat wolves

May be irrelevant now unfortunately.

We’re not down yet by a long shot. The margin for error has become finer but I love how RDZ is talking and acting, having Bentancur back is huge, Simons showed he can create for us.

We can still stay up. It’s just become a bit more nerve shredding but we’re still fighting.

Gut punch today but to quote Rocky Balboa, life isn’t about how hard you can hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.

The turn will come. Keep the faith.

I’ve got a smidgeon more hope under him. If I was at -5 let’s say I’m now a -2.

At which point West Ham and Leeds play out a goalless draw.

Assuming you mean Burnley, can only hope Forest are gassed after Europe but Burnley at home are as kind as it gets. Palace may also be tired after Europe, they were filmed out on the tinkle on Thursday night so it's not looking good.

I do think we can and will beat Wolves next week though then it really sets things up, we play Villa between their semi final legs which in theory should be a good time to play them.

Think that’s fair comment. Only thing I’ll say, and I didn’t see the first half, as good as Brighton were second half, Kinsky didn’t have to make any saves of note I can recall. Last week, he only had to make one. So we aren’t conceding lots of great chances. We’re defending a little better as a team. Key is, as you say, to cut out some of the mistakes.
In the first half Brighton passed through us in midfield again and could have had a couple goals before we eventually scored and I think we didn't really have a shot on target until then. We are still timid in passing through the lines. That needs to be addressed. I do agree with RDZ in place we have a really good manager. But it's very early in his time and to see today as some kind of Damascene conversion, I'm afraid is just to perpetuate an agenda which does not bring fans together but keeps the polarisation going. I hope it stops.

I think it's a really poor show from some posters to immediately launch into Thomas Frank being a loser the first vaguely positive result we get (and we didn't even win!). Frank was the wrong manager but hell we haven't had a "right manager" for a long time. And where we are this season is not because of one bloke, it's not like our form under Frank was a blip. We are where we are because of poor decisions in both recruitment and manager hire since Poch left imho. We have qualified for the Champions League through the league once since that bloke left. It's too early even to say that RDZ will be a success.

There was the same defensive fragility today that I saw when we lost the WHAM game in injury time. The same defensive fragility we've seen for 4 seasons. We have to hope we can defend better next time.

Sorry mate to rant. It's not at you.

Today was a positive for sure but don't go overboard just to make a point about Thomas Frank. We were not brilliant. Showed similar fragility as we have all season especially at the back and we didn't really create many clear chances on goal. I think with RDZ in place we are more likely to stay up. But if we do, he will still have his work cut out to get this team to be less fragile. Cutting out mistakes at the back will define how well we progress under this manager. There is a long way to go to get us to play consistently well too.
Indeed. I think a simple way of looking at it is, we are not great at defending and easily give up chances....yet we're not very potent in attack to counter this.

We can win....but we might be relying on shear effort and a bit of lady luck

(That's the way it looks at the moment imo... hopefully changing BUT 5 games you can only change so much)

Not necessarily for me.
Watch from 4.13.
There are issues, Porro tries to say something/point them out.
Again, if you want a single finger of blame to go anywhere, I'd suggest Muani for his atrocious lack of cover. But again, I don't think any one player is solely responsible.

Doesn't trust Danso?.....jeez we have got problems

I mean look, for me personally, if Muani shifts his arse 5 feet then Mitoma cannot wonder strike...that's my view...but that goal (like most of ours) is not solely down to one player as some suggest (in this case Porro). I'm somewhat surprised Romero hasn't been blamed for either goal today!

If I was to put money on it now, I'd say we'll be relegated by a three-point margin, and that we'll end up looking back at the two points dropped today, along with the one at the death in the Spam game, and saying they're what did it.

It was just so obvious they weren't going to hang on. Both times we went ahead and then had added time to contend with, it was sheer panic when the ball came near our goal.
