So on return from a trip my laptop has bugged out and is asking for a BitLocker code, ive been through a whole process and I cant track it down. Is there a way I can reboot my laptop so I dont need it or can override it

If it is a work device then provided your admins are worth their salt, they should be able to pull from Azure.
There was a url even ours weren't aware of when it happened to me ages back, but I'd need to be at work to get that - and there is zero guarantee it will work, I think I was very lucky with that.

If it is a personal device, I think it is just bad news for you.

You can boot the laptop from another drive or usb stick, but it will do you no good - your BL'd drive will remain locked. Unless you can find the usb that you may have saved the info to, then..... :(

Ever since my tangle with it I make sure I have a photo of the key from cmd line (manage-bde -protectors -get c: ) so I am not reliant upon MS backup policies and the company having it in Azure.

Not what you want to read..
