What cover songs are better than the original?

@ricky2tricky4city here's one of those 'is it' conundrums, because this is brilliant. FWIW he died a couple of days before Coventry away during the relegation battle of '94...sad sad sad, a huge loss IMO...

Thats definitely better than original for me

Such a great thread. Gonna throw a couple in (original first)

Black Magic Woman - Pater Green's Fleetwood Mac vs Santana
Hush - Billy Joe Royal vs Deep Purple vs Kula Shaker
Kingston Town - Lord Creator vs UB40
Proud Mary - Credence vs Tina Turner

My personal favourite comparison is Seal's Crazy vs Alanis Crazy (James Michael Mix) as it is personal to me. As some of you know, I play keys in an Alanis tribute band and she did this for the film The Devil Wears Prada. I think I still prefer Seal's original version.

Here's us doing Crazy in the tribute band

Many Bob Dylan songs are better much done by other people:

All Along The Watchtower - Hendrix
Lay Lady Lay - Magnet
Mr Tambourine Man - Byrds

etc

It's like you get all the great songwriting, without his dreadful voice
