OMT *** Tottenham Hotspur v woolwich *** 22.2.26

Exactly. I’m not defending how we played but that goal should have been VAR checked (no indication that it was) and to me it seemed negligible nudging and great diving.
Who knows how things might have played out of the goal had stood. Not seen any of the post match replays or analysis but that was my impression watching live.
It was VAR checked. They agreed with the on field ref. Softest push I've ever seen and certainly not enough to overturn.

Yes apparently Frank gets a free pass in all of this. He had us in 16th place you know so he was clearly doing just fine.
He doesn't get a free pass with me. I like him, but he was clearly the wrong manager certainly by the end. But these players are lazy and not up for a fight. That's making me so angry. We need a manager who is willing to make tough decisions on who stays and who goes. I don't think Frank was that guy.

I just don’t buy the “it was the players all along” line @Robspur12 . I know it’s not you saying it but some people are after 1 week with Tudor. Of course it should never have been allowed to get to this, the board have sat on their hands for the past 3 months and we are in real trouble.

But are super fussed about not winning one fudging game in 2026?! Cause I am

My hope is that we win our winnable games.

But I also had a realisation today. If we go down, Championship sides simply won’t be able to compete with our revenue from Beyoncé concerts and go karting. The chances are we’ll go straight back up. So…every cloud.

Absolutely nothing in that to hang your hat on. We were very poor throughout. Didn’t look like we knew what we were doing early on, you could see players were confused. We relied on nicking the ball or them misplacing a pass. I saw nothing today that makes me think we’ll stay up.

Thought the players gave it everything though. No lack of effort, just a lack of class and co-ordination. They also absolutely pressed the life out of us. Relentlessly.

Dragusin was good for the most part although he let them come inside twice in dangerous situations, Bissouma busted a nut, Gallagher and Pahlinha too and Muani had his best league game for us. Xavi was a bit frustrating but, like happened to several players, their press was so good he never had options.

I wouldn’t damn the manager too much. He’s had a week or so. But that was very worrying because I don’t really know what we were trying to be.

We were absolutely outclassed. The next few games will tell us a lot more.

Problem is the players know Tudor is only here for 11 more games so they can easily chuck the towel in now and re-engage in August. We have to hope they value Spurs status in the prem.

I already posted.

VDV left back in a 4 and push Saka back.

Start with 2 up front and mix up short and long balls.

Play more attacking players from the start and leave one of the midefielders on the bench so that we can add fresh legs in there 2nd half (as opposed to getting overrun).

I can go on.

I'm really angry. Not with the performance or the players, but with the ridiculous incompetence and inconsistency of refs. One thing is different rules from one week to another, but this was just incredible! One set of rules for one team, and a completely different set of rules for the other!
It's not even debatable that of the major leagues in Europe, England have the worst refs and VAR. By a mile. The undisputed champions of ridiculous refereeing!

However painful it is for us Spurs fans Arsenal have built a much better squad than us since Arteta took over as manager. Our recruitment has been so bad. I know we have loads out injured but the team that started today are mostly average at best. I feel sorry for Archie Gray being played all over the shop but the rest of them were looking way out of their depth. I know we were up against a much better side today and the result was no surprise, I`ve been saying all week I thought they would put at least 3 past us. But hey ho we move on, but I would give a couple of our academy players a try they surely couldn`t be any less effective than Simons. He really is so weak I think the Prem is way too strong and quick for him, but the same could be said about half of our players who were on the pitch today.
Until we up the wage structure we will have to put up with signing average players for good money
