Unlike you, I’d rather have a manager that gets us good results than one who,’sounds’ intelligent (whatever that means? )and, let’s face it, there was absolutely nothing intelligent about Frank’s football at Spurs.

I think when the dust settles over his tenure, it will be clear how wrong a fit he ended up being.
I personally have no argument whatsoever with people who wanted him to be given/get a chance/the chance he got. Essentially, I believe such thoughts were born from a really decent place with regards to being a fair and honourable human being. Decent people always want to try and give people a chance, maybe even more of a chance than their work/fit merits. Between that and the frustration of not wanting yet more churn, I think some people really did not want to acknowledge what their eyes (and to an extent ears) were telling them. So, born of decent intentions...
I also feel sorry for Frank. This was clearly a madhouse too 'mad' for him. As I said a couple of times during this season, we've done it to far more successful and 'bigger' names, so no shame there. The greatest shame is that we simply didn't move when we should have (Xmas)...

In terms of football for me it was Frank. In terms of personality it was Tim, but admittedly time has helped soften my view of him. Find him quite funny now to be honest, but his faux hardman post match interviews were cringey back then

Maybe my memory is wrong, but I thought Sherwood moved from being a bit part player to being a first teamer

Yeah getting battered 5 and 6 nil every week when AVB was here. Left the team in a really great state. Couldn’t create chances for toffee. Sherwood also took Villa to a cup final.

we had three bad defeats, we had a higher PPG from the comparable matches from the season before, where we set a club record, we also had won all 6 games in the Europa league at that point

sherwood started him a couple of times, he was more involved as Soldado was injured
Kane had also played under Redknapp, he then had loans at Norwich and Leicester, around these AVB had him in the squad

Sherwood gave him his first PL start in April 2013....the rest is history.
Those are the moments and opportunities you need. It wasn't the safe team selection.
