Quelle surprise. He's not confirming anything we didn't already know, just some people don't want to accept it.

He says everything I've always said about the club.

Interesting hearing it from someone who has experienced it first hand.

Absolutely, as I say, confirms a few things many suspected. What is now seemingly unclear or clear, depending on your POV is where does that line of ambition stop, now Levy has gone, for many, we should now be open to changing this whole small club, smaller wages issue. The next 12 months is going to be fascinating in that respect for me

All of this again is why I don't think the Poch return is as cut and dry as people think. He'll be unsackable and in a position where he could go against the board and they would have no place to go.

Why would they put themselves in that position when they could hire someone else who would be easier to get rid of and just keep the cycle going. Bringing back a man who publicly stated he wants to win the league and the Champion's League to a fan base that wouldn't accept him being got rid off, do they really want to go down that route?

“We signed Dom Solanke & 3 teenagers, I was looking at Pedro Neto, Mbeumo, Semenyo & Guehi.”

Mate it's in 4 threads at the last count most on the last page or 2nd to last page but I was just pointing it out nothing more
It's big news and lets be honest Ange is a very good speaker.

The mindset of the club has been highlighted by Vinai recently so its in the public domain that the approach to wages etc has to change - he's got a job on now as if he's not careful he will take the club down in his first season in charge.

Levy walks on water though... :)
Levy was operating within a model, I don't believe he was the sole architect of the model. That's my read of it and if that context is correct, he did very well.

The problem has always been the model because it has a ceiling which is below where we now want to be. By removing Levy, we've no one of his calibre to manage this club effectively within the model that we operate.

Hmm always take what a sacked manager says with a pinch of salt (same with Conte/Jose - Conte had a massive spend)

We bid / spoke to those 4 players he mentioned, they rejected us, I'm not sure what else you can do in that situation, we offered Semenyo more than City recently.

What other players did he want? what were his back up choices? It's easy to say I want players that ended up at City/Chelsea/United as an example of your ability to spot a player.

He's right we need more PL ready players of course we do, his suggestion the board needs to do more is also correct.

Thought it was a really weak interview in the end. Didn’t push him on any of the key points.
Ange is still on the payroll as we will be paying his departure in stages and there is an NDA in place - Spurs and all clubs do it - so he's discussed what he can and likely can't go into some stuff without losing his payout.

Lovely to see him looking so relaxed though, the two settlements in 5 months will have helped I am sure!
