Interim Manager Discussion

Would you have these as interim manager to finish the season?

  • John Heitinga

  • Current Coach (Lewis, Cochrane, Burnett, Carr)

  • Ryan Mason

  • Jurgen Klinsmann

  • Chris Hughton

  • Brendan Rodgers

  • Edin Trzic

  • Gareth Southgate

  • Former Manager Hoddle/Jol/Redknapp/Sherwood

  • Stick with Frank no matter what

Hope it isn't Heitinga, too. Did an atrocious job on his last run out as head coach.

Also hope it isn't de Zerbi - man is an utter nutcase and an absolutely detestable human being. Guy like that has a 50:50 chance of saving us or dragging us under.

I feel like DeZerbi could be going to Forest.

As an interim, I actually wouldn't mind Harry, with his age and lack of recent experience being the only question marks in my mind.

He knows how to get instant results, he dragged us out of the muck before, he can motivate players and let them do what they're best at.

All we need is someone to give the dressing room a lift and grind out 11 points in 11 games (Arse being a free hit given the difficulty). 3 wins, 2 draws, 6 losses.

Just saying, we could do worse.
We're also in the last 16 of CL and, yes, reckon I would likely prefer Harry over Mason with that in mind. We're unlikely to win it...(tho if we did, it may make things more interesting in the Summer:))...but even just progressing to the next round brings it's benefits.
Also think style-wise, Harry could be a good bridge to Poch(?)...which I would imagine may be a consideration in the club appointing an interim, esp with the potentially late arrival of Poch in the Summer.

I don't care who it is, as long as we get an instant new manager bounce.

If roles were reversed and we were about to play a team who hadnt won in donkeys and just brought in a new manager 100% they would get that bounce.
But, as its Tottenham I think we might see some sort of improvement but I think it will be the Fulham game before we might see the real bounce..

Yeah, the dark forces are too strong for the new manager bounce to even give us a hard fought draw.

Imagine it. A Tottenham team walks out on the pitch. There's a stirring soundtrack and flashing lights, the niceties are done and the teams face off.

Spurs, to the backdrop of a deafening support, come out like men possessed, driving forwards, snapping into challenges, winning the ball back high up the field and leaving the opposition chasing shadows.

Whose the opposition?

We don't care. Cos we are the Tottenham from the Lane.

Last time it was like that was Poch, before that 'Arry. I don't care if either come back to help us out. But we need the next permanent manager to have a premier league side and to make our players feel that way. That big. That strong. That good.

That's Vinai's job. His only job.

Oh and sack Lange. 😬

I always felt Poch put a lot of store in acting with integrity. I can’t see him backing out of his obligations to the US team - although if there’s a release clause, I guess it’s been contemplated that he might leave for the right offer.
Not sure where I sit with the whole Poch thing. I’d love him to come back - but only if I know it will be successful. That’s the conundrum.
Is that before he went to Chelsea? :)
