Transfer thread

Robertson's legs have gone, that is a poor decision if true.
Have you actually paid attention to this season's version of Robertson, he is definitely on the downward curve, but that is so typically Tottenham.

The voice of reason. There was a clear reason why Pool bought Kirkez. Robertson wants to play and I'm not sure that he gets in ahead of Udogie.

If we're going for an older head then go with Rico Henry. He's 28 and out of contract in June. That's the age you need if you already have 2 young guns and therefore a succession plan. One of Frank's old lieutenants as well.

That is my concern, he's been crap this season and been replaced.

If we wanted an older head Henry is out of contract this year and younger.

A 1 and a half year deal wouldn't be the end of the world as cover and experience and we wouldn't be tied into a long term deal with him.

I think they are moaning because the player we are after has been poor defensively this season, and is not going to improve. There is a reason why Liverpool refused to offer him a new contract, he is far from the excellent full back many of us remember.
I'm not saying you're wrong but is there any stats to back up what you've said about him ?
I don't watch Liverpool so can't comment on how he has played

Here's the challenge. At 28, why would Henry sign an 18 month deals when other clubs would offer him a 3-4 year deal?

Personally, I think we'd need to offer him a 3 1/2 year deal to get him interested.

He’s a bit of a character to be fair, and, he’s also won a fair bit with Liverpool so of nothing else he might bring a bit of mentality to the locker room.

Haven’t watched him actually play in a while so no idea what his form is like now. Depends on price for me. Are we assuming Souza is headed out on loan then?

Given our non-stop injuries, I'd hope not. Keep him around to integrate him whilst being a (hopefully) reasonable backup option. Think he and we gain more from keeping him than shipping him off to League 1 or the Championship where he may or may not play.

Probably something to be said for acclimatisation as well, especially coming from Brazil, some stability in terms of living, training and “coming to work” for him being on the same place around the same people.

Seem to feel like Veliz suffered a bit there, got punted out to a few different places and likely never really felt his home was here.

I live in Liverpool. I don’t know a single Lpool fan who wants Kerkez starting ahead of Robertson. No denying he’s not the player he was, but he is still prem level and we’re short on numbers in that position. A left footed player there brings immediate balance.

It’s a short term solution that could benefit us and also him by playing regularly before the world cup

Have you watched him this season? (serious question), my understanding is Slot had tried to freeze him out and Liverpool went through their brick run and Slot had to bring him back in? am I wrong?

You cant loan a player out the same window you buy them, unless its abroad. Its why Spence had that random spell in France. Im not sure its a good move to ship Souza abroad now, as others gave said, it might just go a bit Veliz

I have seen him this season and he was very unimpressive. If we sign him I hope he proves me wrong.
