****Tottenham Hotspur v BVB********* OMT Official

If Bergvall is out long-term, do we have the same scenario with only kids on the bench next week at Frankfurt? Other than VDV no-one else is back, Palhinha surely not ready to play both games (if at all). Xavi and Gray our only two fit (or 'fit' in the case of Xavi) midfielders for Frankfurt? Spence in midfield alongside Gray, behind Xavi? Am I missing anyone? Might have to play five at the back just because of who we have available.

Gray/Gallagher at Burnley, and then Gray/Palhinha at Frankfurt?

EDIT: Ah, I forgot that Sarr might come back. Good.
It's a good point.
I really like the fact that TF kinda lined us up with 4 at the back but then pushed Porro forwards and allowed Udogie to stay back, forming a 3 at the back with Romero in the centre and Danso on the right, and I think that is 1 reason why Romero played "left centre back" i.e. so he could be in the centre when they shifted to 3 at the back...

That meant Spence could play like a LWB and Porro could play like a RWB... and it meant Gray/Berg were in the centre but had 3 centre backs behind them to support them from behind... and then Solanke had both Xavi and Odobert buzzing around like 10s behind him....

So it really showed how we might like to draw up a 442 or 4231 or whatever, but by just shifting a bit of a wonky, we can make a team from lots of different players without being stuck in 1 formation

Looking at the CL Table we are 5th which is a great effort, on 14 points
There are 8 teams right behind us on 13 points
A couple on 12 points
And Dortmund themselves on 11 points

So there are LOADS of teams ready to take our place if we get spanked.

Frankfurt are no-hopers on 4 points, beaten today by Carrier Bag, so they cannot progress and might hopefully play kids and reserves in the final game???

They also have Leverkusen 3 days after playing us who sit just above them in the table 2 points in it.

Yes, yes and yes!

The 4-2-3-1 is the modern-day version of the 4-4-2.

I would love to see a system where we try to overload the two opposition CBs by either playing two up top or the 90's Xmas tree formation with two second strikers/#10s. With Solanke back, having a combination of Xavi / Odobert/ Tel / RKM operating behind him could pay dividends while still playing three MFs to maintain a solid base behind them.
