Transfer thread

Possibly there's a Dembele style conversion in him. But it would be a long project. He doesnt have much defensive instinct or application
The same was said about Kudus when he joined but I wouldn’t want him anywhere near that deep CM position!

Not saying your doing it but I think all these suggestions to convert people to do what Dembele did massively underestimate just how good defensively he was, he was an absolute monster positionally with interceptions, blocks and winning physical duels.

Same has been said at times about Kulu too. Akliouche is very similar to Kulu actually.

Dembele was never a great RW anyway (whereas the above two are). Poch spending that year training him to release the ball, to convert him to CM full-time, was the absolute making of him

Tbf him and Sandro were the best CM partnership in the league under AVB at the start.. he just got the brunt of the blame at the end of AVB’s reign for the turgid style. It took a while for his reputation to recover and for Poch to put him back in to his best position again.

Capoue not Sandro, no?

He was solid, but his transitioning was always poor/part of the reason for the turgidity. Poch was clever using Mason and Bentaleb to fix the transitioning, then developing Dembele to be an eventual upgrade.

A really good deep playmaking 6 that is also good enough defensively would be my ideal signing. If we're not in the market for that I think that would be because there aren't any available that's seen as good enough.

Agreed that another attacking player, primarily a wide player, would be a natural target as well. But need real quality. We have talents there, particularly on the left.

Ruben Neves.

Poch? He played that role for Fulham and destroyed United doing it, which is why we signed him in the first place. I get you got a love in for the guy, but seriously.

Same, them, Football Heritage, Tottenham Away, LWOS, Cowlin..........all proper idiots

Tell me more about Cowlin, i.e. what makes him a clown....don't really follow Spurs-related SM types tbh but i do recognise his face and name and remember he was giving regular updates about teh stadium build back then (saw him in the gents after the Villa game as well, said a brief hello as i was leaving, seemed polite )
