Radu Drăgușin

Good to see him back.

Think he will be sold in one of the next two windows. Probably close between him and Danso competing for game time with both quite clearly behind Romero and VdV. Him and his agent probably won't be satisfied with that and we have Vuskovic coming back from loan to compete for a place most likely in the summer.

But hey, maybe he proves me wrong and ends up being massive for us under Frank. Arguably our best box defender (again probably close with Danso) and unless he's sold this January having him back will be useful this season.

Every time I open this thread I know it’s because his agent has opened his mouth. I’ve never known an agent to kitten a player around this publicly before.

I’d be sorry to see Radu go coz I think there is a player in there especially in a Frank style team. But he’s clearly 4th in the pecking order so can’t blame him if he goes.

Chiriches agent was the same, wonder if it's the same agency/agent.

He was talking about leaving as soon has he arrived

Yes, I'm making a lazy link as both Romanian.

Sliding doors, isn't it. His injury caused us to bring in Danso

Yeah, I don’t really think the club is at fault as such, these things happen, I like Danso as well. I just feel under the right system and set up Dragusin could be really good.

It’s just a shame as I feel we let him go and then chances are Romero gets a suspension or VDV gets injured …it just isn’t long till we’re playing Gray or Davies at CB again you know? I want us to sign players to challenge VDV and Romero, not ones where we worry about their places being taken from them I guess. I think I just don’t have faith in our transfer business!

I suppose we do also have 4 young CBs on loan at the moment too. I think Vuskovic in particular will be challenging vdV for a starting spot next year the rate he is progressing (just been voted Bundersliga player of the half season hasnt he). I think that balance is about ok for the next few years (i.e. Dragusin going doesnt cost us much)

I’ll be interested to see what happens with Vusko, at the moment I feel like another year in Germany would really suit him but I guess it depends what happens with Radu (and I guess to a lesser extent people like Takai).

We have a number of young players on loan that o think we really need to make a decision on. If we aren’t going to let them get a go in the squad then let them go. I think Vusko is probably good for another year mind.

Agree, I think Vuskovic will be better off with one more season on loan. He wanted to go out on loan this season because he wanted to play, and unless one of our big CBs are off this summer then I don't see him massively going up the pecking order.

One more season in Germany or wherever and then he will be ready to challenge the first team if his trajectory continues...

I’d say he’s the only one at the moment that if it were me deciding would 100% be going out on loan again, he is having what I would say is the definition of a good loan, it’s benefitting us, him and his loan club. Consistent coaching, consistent teammates and being settled there for another year year means little to no upheaval.

Scarlett and Devine I think are my main two (Donley very close) that I think at this point we need to decide if they are likely to be good enough. If, Scarlett for example is someone that we think can become good enough to play for us, then let’s start working on getting him some consistent minutes, even if it’s cups and as a sub. If we don’t think he is, let’s get some cash in and let the lad go and find his career direction, same with Devine.

Vusko probably our one clear good loan at the moment (Lankshear is doing well, but they feel very much different levels).

But if Vuskovic is literally the best player in Germany at the moment, what more is there for him to get from being there?

Well Min-hyeok clearly had a good loan, featuring most weeks for Portsmouth and good enough for the Championship top team wanting him for the second half of the season....

I'd probably go:

Sell: Austin, Phillips, Veliz, Scarlett
One more loan: Dorrington, Takai, Abbott, Yang
Part of our 25 man squad: Vuskovic, Moore, Donley, Lankshear

And Devine is the one I really can't decide between the first and second group
