What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Yeah, but WHY do you think would we try to sign him now given our current set-up, the way Frank plays etc?
Because he has been a long ish term target and looks like he is gonna be available
We buy speculatively and also on reputation and both would work for him
I also am not convinced we will buy for Frank per se
But he would tick Frank boxes. Reasonably physical with a mixture of skills

For me a CB. I've got pelters for saying this before but Romero and VDV are so so so overrated. Under Ange it was "do they look bad because they're being exposed by tactics" but under a manager whose priority and entire set up is to not concede its consistently a circus act at the back. Look v. Liverpool: Romero gives the ball away and then VDV mistimes the recovery tackle, 2nd goal pathetic ariel challenge and then Romero decides "you know what, i'm just going to petulently kick this lad right in front of the ref when i'm on a yellow and we are already down to 10". Pathetic.

I do see you're point on Romero, I think he's overrated by a good portion of our fanbase, and his reaction to second goal is poor, makes a meal of the contact and I think that stops VAR from stepping in.
However, he was done because the cross was deflected, can't really bring myself to blame him for that.
It's the usual spurs cruelty that the deflection gives them a goal and at the other end a deflection denies us a goal.

I'm not fussed where the players come from, I only really care about their quality tbh.

Hopefully whomever we recruit next month is at the very least physically suited to the rigours of the EPL which will give them a chance to hit the ground running, as if we continue merely speculating on talented youngsters from lesser leagues then by the time they’re finally in their prime our team will be in such a negative spiral their careers may end up stymied by the overwhelming negativity enveloping the club.

Simons being a case in point, as whilst I’m reasonably optimistic that his prodigious talent should see him become a decent acquisition he was clearly our 3rd choice signing and is going to need many months in the gym to put on the muscle mass needed to avoid being brushed aside by the elite athletes who ply their trade in the PL; I see that he weights only 128 lbs which is less than Bryan Gil’s 132 lbs let along mighty Maddison’s hefty 161 lbs, despite Simons officially being the tallest out of those 3 attackers.

Under appreciated at Manure. We should try get him, he would massively upgrade our midfield.
Hmm you know he's more of an AM than a CM though? He would add to the collection of AMs we already have in Simon's, Kulu and Maddison. I'm not sure that really a priority signing right now.

100%
It’s what’s hurt us the most
Flip flopping every time
But to do that the club needs a view on what we are too and that’s rarely been clear
Very much agreed.

If true that Paritici is on his way in I hope whoever replaces him has the ability to work towards an identity and see the big picture in addition to the shorter term deal making that Paratici seems good at.
