***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC V fulham...Sat 29th (today FFS!) 8pm - BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY FERNADEZ'S OLDEST KID***

Have watched a few of their games mainly due to Andrews being Irish, so want to see how he does, and been impressed by what he's done so far. Was expecting it to be a disaster following on from Frank but he's really surprised me.
I was looking at Brentford's forum at the time Frank left and Andrews was appointed and they were surprisingly unmoved about it.

Almost to a man they were saying the same thing that they were fine as long as the guy who oversaw things and was the brains of the operation and had been for years (I can't remember his position whether it was the chairman himself or someone else) was there to oversee everything for Andrews and the club. I thought they were just trying to be positive at losing Frank but they clearly know what they are doing....

Their DOF used to tell Frank how to set up before games to maximise his players

Maybe they are confused with what they are being told to do

So confused that a goalkeeper doesn’t know to put a ball into Row Z when caught 40 yards from his goal? Or not one member of a PL defence doesn’t think to cover the goal line when the keeper has gone walkabout?

If they need to be told footballing basics like that then they really are lost causes.

Interestingly The Griffin Park Grapevine painted a complete different picture and the loved and were gutted he left

Yep
That confused

No professional player should be getting the basics wrong. It would be poor at League’s Two level.

Not sure if this is true, but if it is it really is indicative of a poor mindset within this squad.

Yeah there were people disappointed in Frank for wanting to leave and some who (apparently) weren't that bothered, but the point was they believed they would be fine for as long as the guy running things remained there. I know nothing about him but doesnt seem they are wrong...

I'm not one for booing players or managers, but if they don't understand why it's happening then I really don't know what to say to that.
In interviews the players say they know football, they must then know that what has been served up is not and should not be acceptable.
Some, although not many are on their third manager, when do they take responsibility?

They could try engaging their brains while on the pitch. That might help.
Unfortunately booing our own players is a curse of the modern fan base. I`m sure there are many on here who see my posts and can guess that I am not a big fan of some of our current players. But boo them during a game? It`s disgraceful as long as a player is wearing our shirt we should be doing everything to get behind them. When Vicario came out and tried to clear the ball he did not pass to the opposition on purpose it was a simple mistake. The tacos that booed him after that are a fudging disgrace. If his clearance fell to one of our players and we broke away and scored he would have been a hero. Fine lines and all that.
I don`t get to half as many games as I used to but its terrible when the first misplaced pass is greeted by a massive groan. The fan base now and atmosphere at games is nothing like the old days. Without try to sound like the proverbial old git (which I definitely am) times have changed. Football used to be saturday afternoons and wednesday nights. You`d meet up with your mates have a few beers watch the game have a laugh win lose or draw and still have saturday night to go out. Now ticket prices are sky high and games are on every day and at all times. I am always struck by how many tourists are at games now. It all contributes to a lesser atmosphere. The last season at the old WHL when we never lost all season seems an age ago. In truth the owners of most clubs don`t give a toss about fans, they just want the sponsorship and corporate money flowing in. It proved it during the pandemic when games were played with no fans, no clubs went bust. The money our stadium generates we really should be spending on real top players and not keep taking punts on the type of player we have been spending on for the last few seasons. It seems that since we reached the Champions league final every transfer window has promised so much but delivered so few quality players who have become regular first team players

I hope that's BS and just someone on a windup having seen the footage of the team on the pitch together at the end of the half.

Otherwise they're trying to create some sort of siege mentality against their own fans which seems a bit weird to me. But who am I to judge, if it helps them good luck to them I guess. Honestly, this club :D....

I agree
But they all do
Imagine a keeper getting lobbed from distance
Or a player missing an open goal
How about a midfielder kicking it out of play or a defender kicking the ball past their own keeper

Just to be clear, I thought the booing was totally and absolutely wrong. Completely counterproductive - and just plain wrong.

Their expectations are more realistic than ours, anywhere above 16th and they are happy.
We want high enough in the PL for Europe, challenge for a cup (if not win one) all while playing the "Tottenham way".
We won a major trophy last season that some of our fans don't acknowledge because it's beneath us apparently.

Indeed. But it did surprise me they weren't concerned about Andrews coming in, especially as outside the Brentford bubble everyone was sceptical of it. But I guess I'm not used to seeing such unity over on this side of the fence....
