Again a bit random. There are loads of players who were a bit brick at this age and stayed a bit brick. Likewise those there are that improved. One doesn't to the other.

Assuming the point is he's young, at the age when predicting how a player and his career will develop is difficult and there's significant uncertainty about how good he will be in 2-3 years that's hardly random.

To me he clearly has real talent and along with that he seems (as much as that can be judged from the outside) to have a good strong professional mentality. That's often a good combination.

No, it's a possibly. He has better movement than Johnson and Richardson. None of our options fill me with confidence of them scoring or holding the ball.
I think a radical solution would be to play Sarr at centreforward.

Not for me, would start Richarlison. But I can see why the question gets raised. Frankly I struggle to see either of them getting much joy out of a start in that game. But Richarlison brings more physicality, experience and even with his weaknesses he's likely to be more of a presence in a game like that.

Has earned a sub appearance against Arsenal, also because we need to protect Richarlison from overplaying with both Kolo Muani and Solanke out.

Sarr would bring energy and enthusiasm, he's a good scorer and can win headers, neither Johnson or Richarlson appear to offer that at present. I think with Scarlett you could say give him a go, can he do any worse?

Very often with young unproven players who the manager seems reluctant to trust the answer is yes, they can do worse. Starting him against Arsenal would be an immense ask.

Wouldn't mind Sarr there. But would prefer Richarlison. Sarr can win headers, but how would he do in physical duels challenging for headers up against big centre backs. The headers he wins are typically not the kind of headers forwards are challenging for from long balls.

A couple of seasons ago you could talk about Richarlson as a physical presence but recently he looks a broken man, you could rely on him running his heart out but my son said he didn't want the ball on occasions against United. I've always been an admirer of him and had hoped he has resumed that type of play after early games this season but I think he's run his time out with us and it would be better for both parties if he moved on.

My main gripe is that everyone talks about Richy as a number 9. He aint a striker in a million years even though he has played as Brazils number 9. He is a winger who scores the occasional goal. In his career in England he has only reached double figures 3 or 4 times in a season. I think the maximum he has scored in a season is 13 in the league. Expectations are too high for him, he never was or ever will be a prolific striker or assister. Mind you his stats are better than an out and out striker like Danny Welbeck. I like Richys work rate but he is not that strong and gets out muscled all the time. And it drives me mad how much time he spends on the floor. But the same with all our players I think we need an upgrade on it really is easier said than done. If a top striker became available would we be willing to spend the money on them and aside from the wages we would be outbid by at least 6 other clubs in the UK and europe, so as usual we have to try cast offs from the likes of PSG Real and Bayern and hope they come good. Everyone needs to get their expectations down. If we get top 8 this year it will be a massive boost from last years dismal league showing

The randomness was in the comparison to Kane as if that is the barometer. You could just as easily compare him to Lorenzo Gonzalez, who at 20 was seen as a talent and has yet never hit the heights expected. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying Gonzalez is a better comparison but neither is any more valid than the other. We just have to wait and see what happens with him, you have more confidence than I do but neither of us knows the future we can only go on what we've seen so far.

Like i'm not so certain Tel is going to turn into a top player but I've not comparing him to any one player or path and using that as a specific barometer data point. You get what I mean?

Anyway Tel's development will be interesting to see as he's preferred in a position that we are weak in so he should get plenty of opportunities to gain traction there. He probably wants to be the 2nd or 3rd player in our rotation.

We do really need to look at the striker position next summer as it's a bit of mess. Can we get Solanke fit and is he the type and level of forward Frank requires? Can we get MuanI flipping fit and can he show his true abilities here? Can we finally give up on Richy and find a move he's willing to take? And is Tel the depth young striker that again Frank thinks is of the level required. Add all of that together plus the other young options (Melia, Veliz, Scarlett etc) and then still the need to determine who out first team striker should actually be.

Alternatively you're not as good at knowing what other people are implying as you think you are.

I agree that Tel's development will be interesting to follow. To me he clearly has talent and seems to have the mentality. Has his weaknesses/shortcomings as well of course.

I agree that we need further work on the striker side and that quite a lot is a lot unknown there, particularly with Solanke and Kolo Muani.
