*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur FC v Manchester United ***

When you have social media commentators of the club not even knowing the facts, spreading negativity then what chance do you have?

RKM going off injured

Was a header from 5 yards out, he really should have forced himself through to catch or punch the ball.
Instead he backed into the net to try to come around the players and save it that way. He really needs to start commanding his area, especially the 6 yard line where keepers are allowed to get away with being aggressive.

I think the need to upgrade in that position is becoming imperative. Vic is a great shot-stopper, but it’s just not enough when his distribution, command of his area, and his ability to keep a cool head, are all areas of significant weakness.

Sums up my thoughts. Really disappointed with the booing when the change for Xavi was made. I must admit to being confused by that and the Muani one at half time but booing Isnt going to help the confidence of the players coming on. Really chuffed when Tel scored. 2 decent goals recently; perhaps TF can make him into a striker?!
The booing was because MuanI got subbed at half time and Richy stayed on, and then later Simmons got subbed off and again Richy was still on the pitch. From the match fans perspective the worst player was still on the pitch and the guy who was trying to make things happen had been taken off. I wouldn't say they should boo at this stage but I get where their confusion came from.

Did you see the city game today?
Their keeper when pool had the one effort was left wanting too, like he was last week from a corner
And people say he is the best around

I knew what the booing was for, I meant I was also confused by the subs. But tbh TF had more info than me so I just needed to accept it :).

It was baffling at the re MuanI but fair enough, I think the non Richy sub was wrong but it kind of paid off so I guess he could argue it was justified by the end result.

Goal aside, more stuck in the second half, we had a lot more touches in their third with Richie up there rather than Muani.

He occupied their CB's with a higher starting position.

And this is what happens every time Richarlsion removes his shirt thinking that he’s scored a late winner, pigeon brained plonker!
If I was the manager then any player that got a booking for taking their shirt off would be dropped for at least 3 games. After he'd got himself booked for lucking out with a deflection, Richarlison then couldn't foul their player right down in their corner for fear of second yellow. It was from there that Man Utd went forward and got that corner from which they equalised.

Indeed... any semi competent keeper comes and punches that one away.... At very worst for a corner from the other side and at best properly cleared out of the penalty area out of immediate danger. I'm not looking forward to the Woolwich game where they are likely to badly expose Vicario's glaring weakness on inswinging corners. And Woolwich's delivery of those inswingers is probably the best in the league.

Oh 100%, as I say, it worked in terms of us nearly winning the game so looking back absolutely fair play to him and the same to Tel for getting his goal. I wonder if some people are perhaps just never happy, I definitely feel there’s a large section of the fanbase for whom they have used the EL win to completely wipe us finishing 17th last season. Some definitely seem to think we should be flying and that the team was always much better than last seasons performances (it is, but not to THAT extent). Performances can be frustrating, but I think it’s fairly clear where the issues lay and it’s not with the manager.

Agree on the Brentford bit, I did see a post the other day about how Brentford are doing alright so “what did Frank really do there” …I think it’s just football fans, and unfortunately we seem to have gained a large percentage of the worst ones!
Equally, I feel that there is also a portion of the fanbase for whom they have used the 17th place finish to completely wipe us winning the EL last season.

Tel shows urgency
Richy doesn’t show
Richy has no confidence now too and looks a broken man on the pitch
Muani keeps the ball
It sticks with him more than those two
The most obvious issue at the game yesterday was Udogie not starting… right from the start we lost half the pitch as an attacking threat
It looks to me as though Richy is often just going through the motions. I think Pro footballers call it 'ghosting'. Where they run in behind as they see the ball going short, go short when the see the ball going in behind. Don't really properly challenge for headers, run a tiny bit late to a player so they don't have to put in a challenge. He certainly isn't worth his place in the team at present, lucky deflected goal or not.

Regarding your comment about Udogie. I think the point is doubled down when we don't play a winger on the left. If we're going to play Spence at right back then we at least have to pair him with Odobert, otherwise the pitch becomes way too narrow when we have the ball and it is really easy for the opposition to defend that.

Porro must be knackered, he needs rotating - we do indeed need another LB to share the load with Udogie
We saw the same last season. Porro's performances dropped when he was fatigued. When he got to rest a bit he was then really good for those games that mattered at the back end of last season.
