Destiny Udogie

Spurs must really be suffering from deja vu with the left back position. It starts way back with Rose getting injured all those years ago. At his prime Danny was a major force and in about 2016 him and Walker were labelled as the best in Europe. Since then we've not really addressed the position with iterations of Davies, Reggie, Sess etc. Whether we cite bad luck or bad planning, that position has never hit the heights that we had from Rose and prior to that, Ekotto. I still have high hopes for Destiny who seems to have the tools to be a major force but can't stay fit. Noting against Spence either, but he's not a LB.

We simply have to get another good option in at LB soon.

Is it becoming increasingly unsafe in London?
No

Official figures released last month suggest knife crime has fallen in the past year, while NHS admissions for assaults with a sharp object are down 10% compared with 2024. Violent crime is on a long-term decline going back for decades.
London remains one of the safest cities across the planet and in the country.

The number of homicides in London in the first nine months of 2025 was lower than any year since monthly homicide records began in 20031, according to new analysis from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC).

The new figures show there were 70 homicides in London between 1st January and 30th September 2025, lower than the same period in every year since 2003 - and a 16 per cent reduction compared to the same period last year. Last year, London recorded the fewest number of homicides of under-25s for more than two decades. Figures this year show a 50 per cent reduction on last year’s 22-year low and the lowest number of teenage homicides since 2012.

The latest figures also show there were 1,154 fewer knife crime offences in the 12 months to August 2025 in London - a seven per cent drop. And a 10 per cent reduction in hospital admissions of under-25s for knife assaults in London in the 12 months to June 2025
Figures from the Office for National Statistics show Londoners are, on average, less likely to be a victim of a violence with injury offence than across the rest of England and Wales. London’s overall homicide rate is lower than international cities, including Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Madrid.

Rose labelled as best LB in Europe in 2016? Where? How? He was good but not that good.

He adds so much better balance than Spence on the left. It allowed Odobert to play a lot more centrally than expected because Udogie provided the width. Seeing him come back reinforces for me the need for another natural left footed LB as an option for when Udogie is injured.

It feels that Odobert has a chance here to grab the LW spot. I feel he has some trickery BUT also the best connection with Udogie as a team player. Can move to allow Udogie the outside lane or the inside lane. I think they could make a good combo

Honestly I think VdV would be like Cafu at FB.

Of all the players we've tried out there this season (Tel, Simons, Johnson and Odobert), he's the one who looks the most suited and influential. He's got a subtle linking game and we are seeing a bit of an understanding between himself, Simons and Udogie, even Muani to an extent. For me he's the player who should be getting the minutes out in the left and the one who I think is most likely to make it long term.

Looks like Destiny recently signed with a new agency so who was he with before?

Stefano Antonelli from an agency called Football Service.
