Yes but the reason we were awful has now left the club. With the squad we had top six was a reasonable ask, and now we have a proper manager and investing in players I see no reason why we shouldn't be expecting CL

Aresenal, city, chelsea, Saudi Sportswashing Machine, liverpool, villa are no walkovers. We have a new manager.
I think if we get mgw and a 6 we have s good chance of getting top 5. But expecting? I've been a spurs fan long enough to know better.

I would agree that MGW, a number 6 and possibly another left back will do the job. In fact, I'm not sure if we need a better keeper as well. I don't expect to get top four, but I think it's possible

Liverpool still had Klopps team and Slots tactics are very similar to Klopps. Liverpool didn’t even make a significant signing last summer did they?

Even without additional signing our squad was so much better than our position, even with injuries.

We finished 17th last season and were pretty shocking particularly in the second half of the season. Still feel the squad is short of top drawer quality. Top 10 would be a massive achievement.

Massive achievement? What? We were 5th season before last and should have been around there last season - if we only achieve top ten this season there needs to be some pretty compelling extenuating circumstances to account for it imv

Increasing your league placement by more than 7 placings from the season before in this league is a huge achievement.

Only Liverpool and Arsenal are out of range.

United, Chelsea and City are in chaos, decline and/or will be effected by the Saudi Propaganda Ministry Cup. Saudi Sportswashing Machine and especially Villa are tied by by PRS issues.

Whereas we've shed our handicap, and have an exciting, well balanaced and nicely refreshed but settled squad

That's what pre season if for. Liverpool won the prem last season, and it was the managers first season.

Liverpool were also top of the table in march of the previous season. They were a PL winning capable side already before Slot came in. No real changes in personnel just a new face in charge.

We have a new manager, a change of system and new players. It's not quite the same thing.

We've been a top 6 side for 15 years running. Last year's league position was a clear anomaly.

But you do think he underperformed (presumably considerably so guven you wanted him sacked) - so it stands to reason then that you're starting point with the new manager isn't where we were last season it's where you think Ange should have had us, no?
