It hasn't suddenly emerged, but since he's such a smashing lad and brave defender voiceing any concerns over him has not been tolerated until last season. I've been sceptical of Dawson as long as he's been at Spurs and while he did well for us the season we finished 4th, it doesn't mean he should be 1st choice now or that he isn't a rather limited player, prone to positional errors and loves to hoof it.

As someone already mentioned - so did Gomes and Crouch - that doesn't however mean they'd get into our team now. Odd logic to say the least.

Having said that - rather him and Nelsen tonight who's apparently only played once since April.

There's nothing wrong with telling everyone you think a player is poor, not good enough etc so long as you can admit it when he has a good game. What I mean is your negative opinions don't cloud your judgement when he plays well. In my opinion.

bad choice of word order there from me - i was refering to the people making him a spacegoat as lazy thinkers.

every year we do it, we have to have at least one player that is, disproportiately to actual ability or form "the worst player to have ever worn the shirt and a total calamity"

wow, just popped in to the omt and find this Dawson crap being spouted everywhere, someone would rather play Nelsen than Dawson ? sweet jesus you cannot be for real. The same Nelsen that hasn't played since April and had his contract torn up by a side so brick in defence they are crying out for defenders ? No wonder they call us fickle #-o

Have some of you forgotten that in the season that we finished higher than we've finished at any point since 1990, you lot voted Dawson as our PLAYER OF THE SEASON! The likes of Bale, Modric, Lennon, Defoe, King, Huddlestone and Gomes were outstanding at times in that season, but at the end of the year the common consensus amongst Spurs fans was that Dawson had been the best.

If they play Carroll and want to spend the game hitting high balls into the area for him, Dawson is very good at clearing those up. The worry would be if they start with Suarez and Bellamy.
