Greg, how has Marveaux done in pre-season, I saw him score a few goals the other day, whats up with him? Didn't play much last season did he?

He has been excellent, probably our best players in pre season, I think he might start tbh. He has genuinely looked class, as he did when he came off the bench in our final game against Everton. He has a very nice left foot, decent burst of pace, brilliant quick feet and nice touch.

If he can stay fit he will be like a new signing, as clichéd as that is, he had a few little injuries last year in his groin which he had a history of previously so we sent him off for surgery to try and put things right, hopefully he can stay fit, exciting player.

I'd go with this.

Siggy is as assured of a place as Walker, Benny and Bale. I'm not saying it's something I agree with or that I rate him as the bestest player in the world which I think Arcspace is trying to infer, but I'm working with reality here and the reality is that AVB really likes Siggy whilst Rafa has been injured, missed most of pre season and has played about 20 minutes in the past 3 weeks.

Has Pardew paid of his gambling debts to Ashley yet and has he fudged any of the players wives at all ??

No gambling debts, that was a myth. He's probably been doing a lot of shagging, just look at him.

I think you'll find it was the Chairman's wife at Southampton.

Pointless starting Rafa as he'll feel his hamstring 20 minutes in and straight away we lose an option and are at a disadvantage. Still obviously not fully fit so should be kept as a back up plan on the bench.

IIRC we have played you twice first game of the season in the PL and lost both 1-0, Atouba bent one in past Given when Sir Bobby was here.

That wasn't first game, was second, we drew with Liverpool 1-1 on opening day if I remember correctly

some bird in Liverpool too

Yea the first one was the first season you came up in the 90's, Dozzell scored I believe. I remember people raving about our diamond formation with Samways at the base and Dozzell at the top.

1993, Ossie as manager, Sheringham the winner

No fudging way we win this.

I'll be delighted with a draw and then the decent looking run of home games will hopefully leave us in 4-6th after 6 games.

That will keep the press off AVB's back and give us some time to bed down the new players and system.

If we lose the fun and games begin, they are sharpening their knives for us having sacked Saint Arry.

West Brom at home is not a given. Clarke is a smart fcuker, West Brom have done well recently at WHL (draw and a tight loss) and they will have Lukaku up front who hates AVB and would love to prove a point

im slightly nervous about our opening 3 games with the squad we currently have

Lukaku has looked brick.

Long is solid and Odemwingie is a good player.

I think a team like West Brom will be more affected by a new manager as they had a winning sustem with Hodgson, but there are never any givens!!

The way we'll play with a 4-3-3 only needs 1 striker and the likes of Bale and Lennon will be very important, so we don't need 4 strikers like we did with a 4-4-2.

But I want 2 news strikers and the Modric situation resolved ASAP like everyone else!

players like this always have a stormer against Spurs.....Heskey was mostly brick, but in his Leicester days he used to give us the runaround, especially Campbell who Heskey would completely dominate
