Richarlison

The amount of vitriol towards Levy when we sold Carrick, Berbatov, Keane, Modric and Bale. 'We're just a selling club'. Levy builds the club up, so that we can pay the going salaries, and keep the Pochettino team together, and people are claiming we should have sold.
They are probably not the same fans. I would have happily sold Eriksen earlier than we did on the previso that we replaced him with someone. Those same fans would have been the same. It's like this summer with Kane leaving. We've replaced him indirectly and no one has complained, the fans are barely even thinking about Kane. The vast majority of players can be replaced even the good ones.

I was comparing it to the Eriksen situation,

Who brought him into the conversation ;)
But you compared Eriksen to Bale. Their situations weren't comparable. One was trying to break into 1sr team football and the other was a well established player about to be past his best.

My argument was that it can go the other way, yes you can sell to late, but you might sell too early as well.

It obviously didn’t happen, for various reasons, but when we sold Eriksen, his best should still have been ahead of him, he’s in the peak years for an AM still now.

Why are you arguing with the Hindsight Police, they have the upper hand.

Much nicer to live in your world where levy is always right and no one can criticise him ever

I'd be surprised if Richarlison came good. At the moment he misses chances ....and we should be scoring.
He works hard and has good buildup play! but needs to be consistent and not miss chances, especially in important
games.

A guy back from an op and brought on in a game where had no momentum and there's people criticising him. Unbelievable.
Are you new here or to football fans in general? I would bet that the vast majority or people on this forum have less than 10% of the skill and athletic prowess to be a premier league (or international) player. And that maybe 25% have any REAL football knowledge at this level. But if folk can come on here and slag off supreme athletes rather than kicking a cat or sucking off a dog, it's good.

It's probably more to do with only scoring 2 goals in 38 games after we spent £60m on him. Not necessarily his fault but we certainly need to get a goalscorer in.

That's fine, critise him for the other games, but for tonight, that’s unwarranted IMHO.

He's only started 28 games, and of those 28 he's only started up front in 7. Not to mention injuries, the World Cup, Conte and last season's disaster...he's never had a proper run.

I don't think he'll ever be our first-choice striker, but he's a decent squad player and a good option in my opinion.

He's played the majority of his career in the wider position, it's not an unknown or unfamiliar role for him. The majority of his goals have also been scored while being started out there.

There's really no need for the excuses, call a spade a spade. He just hasn't been good enough. Not for Conte and not for Ange.

It's not really his fault, he is the player he has always been. We just picked the wrong guy to go for.

I'm not excusing anything. I said I think he's a good option for us.
