U23s, Academy and Loanees

Regular playing time at that age matters, none of the lower level clubs really play in ways that suit us, but learning the grind and physicality will help him develop.

I think the mental aspect will also help. These are truly competitive games. People are playing for their mortagages. He's not going to be given an easy time as he learns. He has to perform week in week out or the other players will be on him. Also lets him see how the other half live. No £100m training centre, with plunge poolsand steam rooms. He'll be lucky to get a hot shower.

They tried to play as the senior team, possession, pass out the back, more complex build up while opposition played a little more direct (and we got caught on counter)

Quick observations, Donley had a poor game (unusual for him), Veliz is very strong and definitely a threat in the air, Phillips was concerning, pacy and physical but did not seem to have the ability to pass forward (bad night?), literally 90% of the time, carried the ball forward then passed ball diagonally backward to his CB partner. Needs to sort that if he's ever going to play 1st team for us.

Good comments, that probably the poorest game I've seen Donley play.

No spurs players in the England under 17 World Cup squad despite us sitting top of that league.

I thought we had a few good ones.
Olusesi and Moore are in the U17 Euro Qualifying...

But confusingly they announced the U17 Squad for the World Cup and titled it Men's U18 so I am not sure what is going on

Mikey Moore and Callum Olusesi currently playing for England U17s against Faroe Islands. 2-0 up. Callum got an assist on the 1st goal and Mikey got the 2nd goal. It’s a qualifying tournament they play Kosovo on Monday and then Croatia next Thursday.

Did well to win that game, showed great spirit, it didnt look their night when they let in freak goal and harsh pen. Perhaps that game on Tuesday took a bit out of them, they looked a bit tired in second half.

I didn't watch the game, but did Stantiago going off change the set up?

Yes he is a threat out wide and always likely to get a goal, Spoonbell played well but he's not as quick, Donleys form has dropped a bit and they had Lyons Foster playing at CB in place of Phillips which altered the midfield set up.

I thought I saw the manager of the team we beat in the cup still praising him (might be wrong). Is he still playing at a decent level even if that's dropped?
