Harry Kane MBE

In golf there's a "best player to never win a major" discussion.
For a long time that player was colin Montgomery, after a while he had that aura about him where you could see it affected him.
He trotted out his ryder cup record and multiple euro order merit wins as compensation, but you could see that it was slowly dragging him down.
Hate to say it but Harry is looking the same.

As much as he has scored lots of goals and broken countless records i think we as a team are being held back by this man. He is world class no doubt about it but not having any sort of rotation or real competition that brings something else to the table is what is killing us. It's all good having a world class striker but what the point if we do not progress? Liverpool went up a level when Gerrard retired and although they won a few things here and there with him the team was built around him and played around him, the same with Kane here. As soon as he was coming up to his last seasons the building started to begin and a different dynamic was born. I think it will always be seen as Tottenham holding Kane back when realistically, holding on to him this long may have done the opposite.

Sorry, but that is rubbish. The only reason we have been competing at the top end of the table for most of the last 8 years is Kane.

I think you're over playing it but have a point.
We set up to get the best out of kane and make him shine at the expense of the others and possibly the team.

Na, you have over egg'd it....its not in the head it's in the legs and they are going if not gone. But he could still go to a major club and win big things such is his base talent. Maybe a case of our time together coming to a natural end though, that's what I'm starting to see,

His game isn't what it was, but he's going to become Tottenham's all time top scorer. How we manage his decline will impact on how we the fans see him in the short term, but he's a legend.

The blokes a huge legend no doubting but if he is going to be our record scorer there is going to have to be two concessions, him maybe not winning a trophy soon and us carrying a main striker who barely moves anymore

Rightly or wrongly, I think he's just pacing himself. Long season - league, CL, world cup.

Surprises me though that Conte never takes the chance to give him a rest

Today, after the red card, Richy would have been better as a loan forward to counter and Kane could have had a break
I think Kane will be rested mid week

Which considering the kickings he's had and the hard miles he's put in for our cause it shouldn't be a shock that his legs aren't what they used to be.
No doubt his mind is still as sharp, i just don't feel his heart is in it for us any more.

I don’t think that is true, we have been banking on him for too long. I really do feel if Kane had gone to City we would be better off because of it.

He also might hold the record for number of pages on this forum. But he is for sure a one forum wonder.

I've seen sentiments like that destroy dressing rooms.
He is a major reason, but no way the only reason and it is an insult to some fantastic players and at least one manager to suggest otherwise.

kane doesn't exert enough effort playing for us to deserve a rest.

He is the only world class player that we had in that period. We could replace every other player, no way we could replace Kane with the same quality.
