I'm surprised. This will get terrible press if it is one covid case. We do seem to be at the wrong end of this stuff every time.

1. 8 players hit by a virus before a crucial game that decides CL football. Tough brick lads, you've to play.
2. Covid outbreak before a crucial European game for us? Tough lads, you have to forfeit the game and you're out.
3. Other team has one covid absence and a bunch of other standard absences that would never be considered for a postponement. Yeah let's call it off.

Middlesbrough were deducted 3 points that relegated them in 1997 when a dozen players were hit by a virus. That precedent isn't followed here.

The lack of transparency and consistency is the most frustrating thing here.

fudging livid. You just knew it.

You can guarantee when it is played they will have everyone available and we will be short.

Absolutely ridiculous, making it up as the go along. I hope there's a few clubs that got their applications for postponements refused are straight on to their solicitors and lodge cases against the Premier League

The media, celebrities and couch potatoes all have nothing to do with this case being postponed. This is just a case of the Goons trying to play the system

It all part of what the game has turned into. Manchester United had a plane crash in 1958 and had to play games that season. The PL is there for 4 or 5 clubs and the rest are just mugs to fill out the fixtures. The media are only concerned with the clubs that give them big numbers, go to any pub and you can hear the expert who've never been to a game or played since school laying down the law on football according to what they've been told by Sky.

Meanwhile, at the PL

Is it the same bunch of cvnts running the Prem. as the FIA? Absolute bollo! This has been a hard week watching football anyway and now this! You invest £5k plus a season to get royally shafted by these cvnts!

A situation that is entirely self inflicted and the PL bends over of course.

Looking at their statement, they say they can consider a postponement if covid plays a part in absences. So that could be one case or a dozen and they have the autonomy to make vastly different decisions anywhere on that scale (i.e. One covid case - its off, twelve cases - tough you have to play). It's a ridiculous rule open to abuse by clubs and to bias by the PL.

I think it’s important to point out we would do the same.

This is on the PL 100 percent and not Arsenal

I imagine there’s a few clubs today such as Chelsea/Leeds/Wolves being as annoyed as we are at the league.
How's it not on Arsenal? They've mismanaged their squad and played the system, this is as much on them.
Same old Arsenal always cheating.

The arse play midweek, with 10 men, have a number of player in Africa, and of course they petition to cancel the game. But with just one case of covid that is a nonsense.
