Transfer rumours - summer 2021 edition

Gollini/Hugo

Tanganga/Doherty - Sanchez/Dier - Romero/Rodon - Davies/Reguilon

PEH/Skipp - Lo Celso/Ndombele - Dele/Sess

Lucas/Son - Kane - Bergwijn/Gil

That's likely line up at this point, major holes

- 2nd Striker
- RW
- Further CB addition (we have two CB injuries, but we could have emergency optioned either Davies or Tanganga in there, Doherty taking RB)
- anyone of those out, require replacing

I'd say that squad is 5th/6th in league
Agree with all of that
Romero is a classic Spurs signing
Injured
Then out for a few games or play for his country and quarantine
Not getting a striker in again is bonkers IMO

Getting close to the pointy end of the transfer window.
Can go either way. Will we sign an eriksen and lamela on deadline day. Or will it be another berbatov situation?

Sure we'll see some fans lose their minds.

What a load of gonad*s. Next you'll be telling us you bought a robot vacuum cleaner....
I'm afraid not. Thought he did well too, until I watched both games again. Then realised how easily he was bypassed, and had to resort to some pretty reckless challenges. He did some pretty good stuff too, don't get me wrong, but overall, not very good. Most of you would see it too if you watch the games again, and take off the "he's one of our own" glasses.
If his name was Johnny Foreigner, brought in this summer, there'd be 25 pages of moaning about him.
I'm confident he'll be a good player, but as of now, he's not been as good as people seem to believe.

He's not great one v one defensively, at this point at least. Top defensive midfielders in those situations are imo usually a bit quicker, better tacklers.

Skipp has to resort to somewhat more reckless tackles in those situations I think.

The current system suits him, narrow defending where he's rarely exposed with space for players to run at him. He can use his positioning and awareness to keep things tight.

Personally I'm not sure he'll ever be great one v one defensively. He can surely improve, but doubt he will become great. But if he can develop his passing game further, become more press resistant he could become an immense holding midfielder.

For now I think it's good enough. He'll be 21 in a month, still very young for a player in that position and role. His performances should be seen from that perspective too. If he was a 20 year old non English player I would have said the same.

It might be the trajectory he is on, I thought Rice was awful a couple of years ago but now I think he performs a critical role highly capably.

I see Liverpool are refusing to let salah go on international duty due to quarantine

Us being a soft touch lose 2

Sarr, Kessie, Traore, Duerte all linked today. Looks we're about to seal this Sarr guy. Would love for us to get someone like Kessie in as well.
