Transfer rumours - summer 2021 edition

Sabitzer would more compete with Alli for the central role in the AM trio surely; not CM?
You presume we will be playing 4-2-3-1, which I don't think we will. I believe it will be either 4-3-3, similar to Madrid's formation, with 1 DM and 2 CMs, or 5-3-2 which when we attack can turn into 3-5-2, again with 1DM and 2 CM's.

The leaks appear to suggest that Paratici wants us to play three at the back, so I think 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 are the most likely formations next season

I can't see it when we've got no good CBs and lots of AMs. Our whole squad has been assembled over the last decade to play 4-2-3-1

Maybe long term we might change, but not with 2 months left of the window, no coach and no money

The defence is going to be rebuilt and it is meant to be what he told Fonseca what he wanted. It also fits with the coaches we have been approaching since he came in

He would probably play as a box to box number 8 type player (would be a good partner for Hojbjerg).
Bonus with him is that he can also play any of the 3 in a 4-2-3-1.

Is he really mobile enough? He seemed pretty static yesterday/wasn't tracking back much. It might just be the baggy Austrian shirts, but he even looked a bit overweight

It’s your eyesight fella
The guys a running machine and so disciplined, hence why he can every position he gets asked
Maybe the watch when we played RB as he was embarrassing us with his work rate

If the intention is to play him as AM I hope we don't sign him. He would be utterly pedestrian in such a role. We need a passer in AM or alternatively a direct goal scorer (Ali) Sabitzer is neither.

Sabizter is a quality passer
It’s why he gets a lot of assists

Yes his passing is quality as a CM, he's a perfect addition but as to play as an AM you need more. It's weight of pass, vision and a degree of playmaking that I just don't believe he has. If we were to compare him to our rivals AMs he seems a lot more on the industrious side rather than the flair side of things and we need flair. We need genuine invention, we've lacked it ever since Eriksen essentially downed tools.

Sabitzer is not the replacement for me. I just don't think he's good enough in that role and I don't think any of our rivals would go for him to play that role.

That’s your view which is cool
I’ve seen him play that Eriksen role as I think we would call it and he was great
I also think others would got for him if they didn’t have players who played that role already
And of course he gets goals too which is something we need to fix to take the pain off Kane and son

But he isn't an attacking midfielder, he played most of his game last season as a CM not an AM. Just because he was played as a no 10 for Austria doesn't mean that's his natural position.

I see one of my old (young) favourites Brerton at Blackburn is getting talked up again. Seems to have come into some form and I think he is likely to fulfill his potential.

Levy should like the fact the is only 12 months left on his contract and he is home grown.

If Mitchell was still here with his black box he would probably be saying this lad has the potential to really take off the next couple of years.
