Next Manager?

As I said, he is quoted as saying he likens Sanchez to himself and was relishing the chance to work with him in training and bring out the best in him.
He also feels Dier is a leader and should be at the Euros.

Not for me

Oh he said nice things about tottenham players. I didn't realise.
How evil of him he should slate our players like some of our fans do. Then he would become a great coach.

Or say nothing rather than make yourself look clueless?
What if he said we don’t need signings because the whole squad is good enough....could I mention it then?
Cheers

I wouldn’t say Ledley King was clueless when it comes to football, there’s a few on here I might point that stick at but not Ledley

Sorry for all the edits

He’s not clueless at all which begs the question why he would do an interview declaring how surprised he is that Dier didn’t get picked on the back of being “excellent for the majority of last season” and is a “natural leader”

Have you looked around this board? .. don't even need to go to youtube ..

Everything is a wrong decision and some further validation of bald man bad, the level of bitterness would be hilarious if it wasn't so tiresome.

But say anything and you are a ENIC/Levy supporter, while them, the "true supporters" take every fudging opportunity to brick on the thing they claim to love.

There used to be a debate here ..

It is sad to see as you say, but Stop! Hammer time i guess and there is nothing wrong in having them. The biggest shame though is that a lot of the hate shown to Levy by s ome is because they believe all the rubbish they read on the social media flimflam that follows our club ( and others at various times). Its bothers me that in this day and age there are so many who believe everything they read ( even if it is true or not) and then start foaming at the mouth.

Now i am sure i will be accused of being a Levy lover but as they say its better to be a lover then a hater;), of course Levy has made mistakes there is no getting away from that but there are still a lot more fans around who believe that he has done far more good things for our club then the mistakes he has made. Our club is in a far better position to go forward then we were before he came in ( and if there are s ome who can not see that truth i really do feel sorry for them and wonder where they have been the last decade or so).

Kane shrinks like the rest of them do in crunch games.
There’s no trophies for scoring against a 10th placed arsenal in a random PL game I’m afraid.

If you want silverware, turn up in the finals and semis finals you appear in.
Score that one on one v Leicester at WHL and he might have a PL trophy.
Score that one on one v Croatia and he might have a World Cup.

Tired of Kane not scoring when it really matters being “because Davies and Njie”
Hang on a minute. This narrative doesn't stand up to scrutiny when you see the number of players who apparently haven't turned up in finals for Spirs only to leave and win a trophy else where. Kane will be no different. Just like Modric, Bale, Eriksen, Berbatov Carrick. The list goes on. The finals Kane has played in we have always been the underdogs so it was always unlikely we would win.

Well Berbatov scored in a final and won a cup.

Kane has been first team for what, 7 seasons now, played three finals and at least 4 semis, and scored how many in them? I honestly don’t know....one?

The narrative that he couldn’t possibly win a trophy against teams we had battered in the PL the same seasons we lost to them in semis and finals (Chelsea and Utd) due to a poor squad, is baffling.

Seasons we finished above City, Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea over 38 games but it’s Levy and Trippiers fault we couldn’t beat them in the cup?

Surely that’s like saying we can’t criticise Jose because we don’t know what he told the players to do though......?

As a coach who was quoted as saying he was relishing working with Tanganga and Sanchez (the latter who had an atrocious season, and Tanganga who has all the hallmarks of being a brilliant player yet didn’t get a look in) plus thinking that Dier had a good season and is a leader, I don’t think King should be coaching our first team yet.

Legend status, and Jose’s management aside, I saw nothing really except half a season of players who couldn’t trap a ball, pass a ball, defend, attack or keep possession for four passes.
As a first team coach, he takes a huge amount of flak.

If first team players cant trap or pass a ball that is the fault over the pre teenage coaches. The team and players follow the instructions of the manager/head coach. Some players just dont respond for whatever reason, I dont believe Sanchez has it mentally and that Dier has never recovered from his illness, if you want to blame King for that so be it, but none of us know how good he is.

But they could trap and pass a ball right up until Christmas. They could trap and pass a ball on the final day v Leicester.

I didn’t blame King for Diers illness, I questioned the logic in King saying Dier is a leader and should be playing for England after an excellent season.
I don’t want someone who believes that coaching our first team.

Cup semis and finals come late in the season where we tend to be suffering more than our rivals due to having a smaller, weaker squad. Our first team have to get overplayed due to a lack of options in the squad.

Mourinho wanted to rest some of our first team in the week leading up to the League Cup final to give us the best possible chance of winning the trophy but the chairman sacked him instead.

Because in one off games where it is all or nothing, that's where squad options on the day or the lack of them count the most.. Generally better squads win trophies. So when players leave to go to better resourced clubs they win trophies.

We have had every kind of manager during Levy's tenure, yet aside from Ramos not won trophies. It can't all be because of the managers. Now there will be many factors behind that, but Levy is not blameless either. Levy rightly takes credit for our successes but similarly he has a hand in our failings too.

2018 We hammered Chelsea away in the PL three weeks before we lost to Utd in the semi.
Also beat Utd in January in the PL.
Not sure fatigue and lack of options was a factor in the defeat.

2017 We also beat Utd in the PL and hammered Leicester 6-1 a few weeks after losing to Chelsea in the semi (who we beat comfortably in the PL in January)

So what gives? We should have signed Martial or Zaha and everything would be fine today?

All very well but can you tell me which one of Chelsea or Utds bench would have improved us in 2017/18
They didn’t have epic squads or starting 11s

Journalist Duncan Castles told the Transfer Window podcast: “They went a long way down the line with Julien Lopetegui the Sevilla coach.

“They had agreed terms with Sevilla to release him from his contract for £4million, the release clause in his contract and also agreed terms on a contract.

“Then for personal reasons related to family matters and because of changes brought about on movement of individuals because of Brexit, Lopetegui pulled out of that deal and Tottenham then went for Fonseca.”

Very interesting.
But, you know, it was probably Levy's fault for not negotiating a proper Brexit deal and for sorting out Lopetegui's family situation.
