Next Manager?

Yes, but people then take ‘we don’t know what happened’ and move that into ‘I’m sure Levy has just been diligently meeting candidates and doing everything he can.’ When we ‘don’t know’ there is just as much assumption on the side of him not using the media, or not being distracted by shiny new big names, as there is me saying he was using the media potentially for slightly cynical means.

If all we can discuss about the club is when something happens on the record, the summer discussion would be pretty sparse. Not everything happens on the record.
The issue with football is it’s close to us all but we (the normal fans) rarely know anything in reality
We rely on what is a pretty poorly regulated and controlled media who need to sell links
And then we kind hook into ITKs and other social media links

and you have nailed it in that it’s the summer and we have little else to discuss TBF

Going off intuition rather than evidence and then using it as a stick beat someone with is a bit different to saying we don't know what's happening and offering an alternative view to the negative one.

You might have a comparison if the 'we don't know' crowd were then heaping praise on the club based on their alternate suggestions, but they aren't are they?

All a bit silly though, I'd rather discuss the topics at hand rather than how people post

He may well have done. Or he might have asked for a swimming pool in his desk with rabid otters. Which personally i would have gave him. But levy might have thought no, they might give the players rabies and doris the tea lady has to put up with enough with my harvey Weinstein hands without feeding tuna to rabid otters. We'll never know.

Sounds as good ( and as likely) as some of the storys that are being used/made to slag Levy off.;)

Round two of Conte fishing for a job in England incoming.

I don't know how people get upset about this, i just find it amusing.

I know people might be thinking, if we get this or that manager now we might win the league. We wont. Whoever we get and whatever signings we make, we're looking at best 5th in the league and a cup run this season. Too much work needs to be done.

Maybe with the current squad. "Too much work"=2 new CBs and a RB, but they need to be class, get Sabitzer in and reloan Bale(or get another great RW) + a reserve striker for Kane.

It's partly the media's fault for rewriting the past.

For the last decade most pundits predicted that we wouldn't even get Champions League, now they say we failed for not winning the Premier League.

In reality we overachieved by a mile, however we now need the stadium / NFL / Sponsor money to be up there without it being an over achievement.

That was always the plan, but suddenly the narrative is we should spend like Emirates Marketing Project.

We'll be back up there and then they'll pick on another club to create "news".

no chance spurs will always be the club to go to in selling "news" ...

How much did chelsea need last summer? They went and spent £200m. They'll spend again this summer as will the others. Can see us get 5th at most, although i'll happily be proved wrong.

Everyone spends money. Leicester have spent improving their team. Villa have spent, Everton have spent. Lots of teams pay money, £25m+ to bring in quality players.

we've broken the £30m barrier 3 times ever, Ndombele, Sanchez, Sissoko. Football in today's game you can't go far without spending, and we're the proof of that.

I don't care how much a player costs. It's whether they're good.

We'll spend this summer, but it won't be £200m unless that involves players swaps.

strange that city’s best player according to some last season was Foden who was free
Ours is Kane who is free
Pools is TAA (according to some) who was free
Arsenals is Saka ... free
United.... nit sure TBF but last season it was possibly a free transfer again

money means nothing
It’s quality that matters
Pepe cost £70m... he hasn’t shown that quality has he?
Dele cost £5m... who would you take?

I can see us making an offer to Southgate after Euros if Paratici comes in to keep things moving, even offering him England part time till after World Cup.
