Next Manager?

We are on a bad run of form, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will end bad - see Man U where Ole was apparently a dead man walking, Moyes at West Ham who has turned it around when many wanted him gone earlier, Arteta looked lost but slowly turning it around etc. Who knows what will happen in this weird and wonderful season for us.

But I will eat my hat if Eddie Howe or Gareth Southgate is the answer.....

ill help you if they pick those two snowflakes.

You overrate our players massively as is clear to everyone. None of them and I mean none of them have elicted any serious interest from rivals or higher prestige sides despite many of them being available at various times. You're going to be forever disappointed in what any manager archives because you can't see what's actually in front of your eyes. Kane is world class, Son has been at times and the Belgium defenders were a great duo. The rest are just good players except Lamela who is midtable standard.

Poch's system and coaching has made you think the parts were better than the sun when it was the other way around. Now you're seeing the effect of just having the parts and it doesn't quite add up to what you think it does.

.

Baleforce seems like a lovely guy but he’s comfortably the most deluded fan I’ve ever met of any club in my life :D ironic that he hates Liverpool so much when he’s just like them in reality, he’d fit right in with their deluded fanbase . Like you say, Kane and Son are the only world class players we’ve had during the Poch era or now with Jose. The rest are excellent players (Eriksen, Dembele, Toby, Jan, Walker, Lloris, Rose) or midtable/squad players (Lamela, Dier, Sissoko. I’d argue Poch had the players to win a trophy or two but I agree about having a system in place that didn’t rely on certain star players. We coped just fine without Kane, Toby, Jan etc for long periods and even beat top teams without them; City (on numerous occasions), Ajax, Chelsea. You have to credit the manager for that.

What has he actually done?
One "good" season at Liverpool were he almost won the league but threw it away in way that would make even us embarrassed.
Letting in 3 goals in the last 11 mins against a Tony pulls team ffs!
He lucked out at Liverpool with saurez.
Discount everything he did domestically at celtic, the financial gap up here would be like dropping city into the third division.

At least he's got a team playing entertaining football week in week out. I've said it all along, but for me, just enjoying football on a weekly basis is more important than celebrating a trophy one night in May or whatever.

If he wasn't such an arse I would be delighted with him, perfect tottenham manager.
Sexy football that builds your hopes up only to break your heart at the end.
But he is a massive arse.

Is @glasgowspur from the blue half of the city by any chance? Might explain his thoughts on Brodge...

Good to see you back posting mate

I'm a mix, family are blue but most of my friends are green.
He is hated on both sides, probably more on the green side because he betrayed them.
It's souness and rangers to Liverpool all over again.
Tbh he actually did really well up here off the pitch, if ever there is a job to bring out the absolute p rick in you it's as old firm manager, but he handled that side pretty well.
No gloating, no taking all the credit, and he generally acted well.
Who knows maybe he has matured.
I don't hate either old firm, but I do hate Liverpool.
I'm lucky, I get to laugh at both sides, which in fairness is really easy because as long as one is winning the other is in turmoil.

I think we'll go for a young manager. As I said above, when a manager fails its very common for the next person to be the opposite, or at least not have the same flaws. So I expect a young manager who is viewed as playing decent football

Therefore I think people like Howe and Southgate will be in the mix. Gerrard - as someone said above, there is little point given if it he does well then he'll be off to Liverpool as soon as Klopp leaves

Rodgers or Nagelsmann are most likely in my view, and I'd take either of them in place of Jose in a heartbeat

Swansea and Leicester both play good football. He improves individual players.

Not saying I definitely want him. I favour a youth centric approach personally, just don't get the hate for him.

Don't know who, but some one willing to build a team around rodon, PEH, tanguy and Kane.
That's a solid spine with flair and goals.

I'm with you. Rodgers is a perfect viable candidate. There might be others but he's worthy of strong consideration

Rodgers is only 48 though so plenty young enough to build an era

I’d be happy with Rodgers.

Annoying face. Annoying voice. But has good experience now, seems to develop players, tends to get results. Looks like he buys fairly well. Knows the league.

Young-ish, big-ish name that should command some respect.

One negative would be fairly limited European experience iirc??
