To some degree Liverpool / Coutinho as well.

I think there's some truth in this, but not playing the best formation / players we have is a bigger problem imo (i.e. if we are deliberately weakening ourselves by leaving out Aurier and Dele for "personality reasons" then we are idiots).

Most fan picked teams would have performed way better than yesterday...

Does Jose have a master plan where he is doing weird things to prepare for next year? or is this it?
No system will work if the players don’t work hard enough
Yesterday was so low on the effort front
There is no excuse for it IMO

We dont have a system though. If you do, then it survives when one player is missing or in rough patches of form.

We have absolutely zero plan on how we're looking to attack and break down an opponent. We look like we just turn up on match day and play

The players must see it and get thoroughly tinkled off with it too

I don’t think we lost just because of the system
It was a lack of effort
I mean it was mean and lazy and frankly not acceptable
Too many players jogging
Sky highlighted it afterwards multiple times
You mention the attack but we can’t defend when players run past us...

But why are players doing that? I dont believe that our squad are any more or less professional than others teams

I think there is a clean plan to score goals from breaks, we did get into good moves a few times last night but the players couldn't be arsed to pass the ball properly.

Maybe they have mate after given up on Jose
I do think we don’t have a leadership element on the pitch. Lots of quiet players (couldn’t hear any on tv)
As I’ve said a lot latterly the core of the side are still the ones that got Poch the sack and we know as fans how revered he was/is with us
So pass
I do know in work environments when I come in to help (I do business consultancy), you always get the following...
People who have been there two long and in there head know everything but haven’t had the “opportunities” they believe they deserved. Those people are toxic and drag everyone down
You also always get a few young, keen revolutionaries who are happy to do anything needed and will muck in on anything
Then you have a bunch of comfortable people plodding along happy with the pay cheque... we have a lot of those don’t we. Their career is going to get no greater than where they are at so will cling on for dear life

remember when Poch joined... we had all of these

I dont know if we do have them now. Can’t see the younger players offering out the senior players for a fight to defend the manager (Kane and mason did that with ade and Kaboul).

Im not convinced there was an attacking plan that was obvious
Vinny did alright though when he came on

Look at what Arteta has done recently with the players he didn’t want
He has properly fudged them off
The way he is doing things there reminds of Poch.. yep I’ve said it

These guys say hi...

win the ball at the back, get it wide with Sissoko and Davies or vertical to Son/Bergwijn and move the ball across

we were fudging terrible at it but thats the way the bodies were moving before we coughed the ball up

Passing the ball to those two wide is like doing a poo knowing there is no toilet roll. The brick is coming right back at ya

Said weeks ago:

Davies and Dier were not first choice members of the team 3 years ago. The fact that they are today, speaks volumes of our recruitment process.

However, that being said, yesterday's loss, and our recent form, is not solely down to 'old guard'. It's a far deeper problem that's been highlighted throughout Jose's tenure - especially our lack of attacking build up, process, intent.

There's definitely players that are either clogging up the squad or not up to it and we always take too long to let go off players with Levy always trying to extract a high price - I mean why is Rose still getting paid. Surely there must be someone willing to take him on loan and pay his wages, he was playing for England only a couple of years ago and just seen he's 30 - not even old.

I didn't say it was a good plan, but there was one.

I think Sissoko was one of our betters players last night. He made a lot of progress and delivered some good crosses.

Sissoko is definitely not the issue, may not have the technical abilty but he puts in the workrate and plays wherever he's told too. Some of the other waste could learn a lot from his attitude.

I genuinely believe clubs don’t actually want the players

Could be a combination of many things why but their paid well here, the training set up is world class and it’s London

Fair point.
I certainly agree that top players would be expected to bust a gut to try to make the system work.
