OMT *** Spurs vs Bin Dippers ***

Seriously? Loyalty is giving a manager who gets a Europa league club into the CL four seasons in a row despite having 10th biggest transfer budget and 6th biggest wage budget new contracts?

Loyalty is the manager sticking with Spurs despite much bigger pay cheque offers and transfer/wage budget offers from a much bigger club, not the chairman giving the manager who over achieved every season a new contract!

Do you actually believe what you type or just like playing devils advocate?
For a start I genuinely don’t believe he was offered other jobs. Hence why no one went for him in hiatus despite his collar ability
Secondly I do believe we were loyal in that we extended his contract multiple times. That’s what clubs do. Reward managers with new contracts as a demonstration of loyalty

In some ways I don't blame Levy for bringing Jose in (although I do heavily disagree with him sacking Poch). At the point that Levy decided he was going to get rid of Poch then Jose was the biggest name in town with a proven track record of trophies.

Levy has always had a hard on for Mourinho and I'm sure it also made much more financial sense in Levy's head to believe what Jose was telling him about us having a great squad and he would win the league with it, blah, blah, blah.

Of course I would've much preferred the chairman to have listened to the manager who was the main person responsible for Levy and Lewis' investment in THFC being worth exponentially more than they invested, when he said that we needed a painful rebuild. But replacing the manager is a much cheaper option and I don't blame Levy for being seduced.

I hope Mourinho gets us over the line to win a trophy (any trophy!) this season. I don't think we will make top four however and if we do not do so then I think Levy has to pull the trigger on Jose (even if he wins us a pot) as it seems that top 4 is Levy's minimum requirement (even though we're now creeping down towards the 7th highest wage bill) and we need to hold Jose to the same set of rules that clearly Pochettino was being held to.

No i agreed the players get away Scot free too many time to me.
Their rarely if ever made accountable by fans. No manager sets their team up to make those errors like we saw yesterday or we saw last season at Brighton. No manager. Their not stupid managers, but it doesn’t mean the players aren’t stupid I’m afraid.

I see.
These are not stupid players, they are scared players.
I wonder who -or what- they're scared of?
And if one or two ARE "stupid" then who is picking them?
Given that you've doubled down, why don't you name and shame "the stupid ones"...if you think our problems yesterday genuinely amounted only to three mistakes, I'd say you're blind to a bigger set of issues.

Nah I think your forgetting how these okayed operated to get Poch the sack mate
Seriously do people not remember Brighton away, Saudi Sportswashing Machine at home, Sheffield United at home. Villa at home we limped over the line didn’t we. Arsenal away we blew a two goal lead. Leicester away we crumbled despite being the better team all because of a VAR call
I mean the players who did that in those games were the mainstay of that squad yesterday and apart from Rodon were the ones at fault for the goals yesterday for example
Aurier Is a stupid player. His off the pitch antics almost got him in prison and on the pitch until this season (where until a month ago he was the best RB in the league) was very poor for a £25m player, with woeful decision making under both Poch and Jose
Hugo... stupid off the pitch and in big games makes very odd calls. His shot stopping is up there but his command of his area is non existent. Remember Brighton away... how about palace away this season
Dier... literally got a ban for fighting a fan
Dele... got a ban for racial abuse, and that’s as a mix raced man
Lamela, Gio and Reggie... don’t understand how a lockdown works and had a party...
We had a right back who is due to serve a 10 game ban for a gambling issue and he didn’t even profit

I mean that’s a lot of stupidity there

I’d love to know what caused the two Brazilians to miss Christmas games as that was a mystery

I don’t expect angels and I do accept players make mistakes but the repetition of a mistake is not acceptable

Absolutely. Absolutely good enough to be comfortably top 4.

How many points have been lost due to "tactical approach"?
He has said many times he was happy with the squad at the start of this season.
Of course he said he’s happy with the squad, as does just about every manager publicly - you honestly believed that? I can only imagine the meltdown on here had he said otherwise, considering how precious some get about him daring to criticise any player:D.....

I’m not sure how many have been down to tactical approach
What I can say is most goals we concede are down to defenders making very very basic errors
I mean basic errors, not forced errors
Letting the ball run last you.... basic
Chesting the ball to their forward... basic
Head butting a players back whilst the ball is going away from goal... basic
Not jumping when a cross comes.., basic

And training and motivating them. The meteorology is still so weak. And I’m bored of da playas just saying ‘we have to react to this’ for the next game.
But again as I’ve said....it’s not new
It’s been like this for 3 years ish
Even the year we made CL final we had spineless league games
There just forgotten

This was last full season Poch lads
The players let him down badly didn’t they?
I mean the lack of results in that period were woeful
And so many of those players who were unmotivated and stupid are still here don’t forget
We lost half those games in that period
We had some real shockers too

The conceding of goals has been mostly down to basic errors by players. However, the lack of goals in the majority of games has been down to the tactical approach.
That part lays firmly on the manager. His only tactic seems to be to get it to Kane and Son and hope they can produce a bit of magic.
If they're not on their game we have no other source of goals.

I think if you go through any Premiership club you will see similar incidents of "stupidity"...Emirates Marketing Project for starters. You've simply listed incidents over the last 5 years (forgetting some such as Eriksen/Verts as it doesn't fit the point you're looking to make).

Is Davies "stupid" for playing everyone onside in that first-half goal incident? Is Kane stupid for not stopping Henderson? Lloris, a World Cup winner, "stupid"?

Aurier has been Aurier since the get-go.

I think the most "stupid" thing about our club right now is that in the battle of wills, we continue to not play to our strengths, instead being bent time and time again to the only system our manager knows despite evidence that tells you our best form of defence remains being more positive as a team. "Stupid"? I think that is pretty stupid, or if not stupid (as I think it is actually stupid to call these players and managers "stupid" even though we all do from time to time) stubborn and one dimensional.

Again, mistakes are often born of fear at this level if repeated. Because if they aren't -if the mistakes are down to stupidity- then only a stupid person continues to trust stupid people.
