*** OMT: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Stoke City ***

???? He was at fault for their goal

Bar the fantastic goal, Davies wasn't good. Great, winning goal though, so why not MOM for that strike alone?

Stoke barely had a snif. We dominated. Winks did as well or better than anyone so prob MOM for me. Hojberg is always good value too.

He didn't hide, dug in and dared to do. Have to watch that goal again; my initial memory is that Doherty did not paint himself in glory glory...

Having just seen a quick replay: Dier loses the ball out on the left, then fails to intercept a Stoke pass. Doherty has come in centrally to pick up a player I guess, but leaves him as the ball is played into the box.

And as a result Dele gets hooked

I think if you go one stage back you will find Dele loses the ball.

BTW who do we want to win - - Everton or United?

Yep, that’s what I was getting at, but we had ample time to recover the situation.

Id take either for the semi final at home, but we’ll get City away!

@milo Dele MotM.

If only because first half we started to see the Dele of old. Predictably tired second half given he's missed so many games but made several of his classic trademark runs that, when fully match sharp (given the chance!) he will surely make much more of.

Maybe
I’ve watched every game and seen the criticism of winks for not pinging these carrick like passes that no one plays (because they cant) but I constantly saw no movement in front of him. I mean static players waiting to receive the ball with their back to the goal
Today was odd event as we had sideways and forwards movement. So he had more chances to play and he also had a CM alongside him who could pass too
The criticism is because he IS capable of playing those passes but rarely did. Hojberg, Ndombele and GLC have played those passes when they've been in that space. Saying the movement was lacking might some times be true but really it's just making excuses for his cowardice at the time. I know you're a big fan of his but I don't think you're being truly objective here.

Today he played quicker and with more purpose and started to look like the Winks we all got quite excited about initially. If he gets a chance in the PL he needs to keep this attitude up as that is what he is actually suited too. Playing it backwards and sideways does not showcase his best attributes. He just need to believe in himself and not be overly worried about his pass completion. Today and his last appearance are good indicators the penny has dropped for him.

I thought he played well and we should forgive him the slight rustiness considering how little he has played.

I’ve shown before his pass maps where over half his passes were forwards and been called a liar!!

I’m not a big fan but I appreciate what he brings. His managers do too which is why he gets played a lot
Games where we will have the ball he is a much much better option than sissoko for example as he keeps the ball. He showed that today but asking showed a mix of his game alongside a quality CM.
