Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Jose is strange. Gets us playing OK for a little bit, but then sits back with the weakest "block" ever.
Our forwards don't have a clue whether to press or not, just one guy running and 3 scratching their heads.

Then at some point BOOM we go nuts and start flying into Norwich, desperately scrambling against time to score... bizarre coaching. Bizarre tactics.
It’s mental really
When we attack we look good
We carved them open and should have done better with the chances
When we sit in.... we look nervous and erratic and like wee waiting to concede
The brick or bust tactics that worked when he joined could easily work now

For the final 10 minutes of the 90 tonight I thought we showed that we could be a good team under a forward thinking, attacking manager. We have a number of good attacking players but have a manager who seems to shape us to play deep, defensive, counter attack football.
We looked good too when we actually countered
But generally there seemed it be no actual plan other than sit deep and do your job... very odd

Yeah, agree. There are extenuating circumstances for Jose at present but I’m beginning to worry.

It's now very clear that Jose really is yesterday's man and a has-been. Even his old defensive tactics aren't working.

Ironically it was probably us that killed him about 5 years ago on that new years day match - he's simply been on a downward trend coaching wise ever since.

He is now a man of excuses, so fits in right now given we as a club are now one of excuses.

Simply shambolic, but it starts at the top..

I actually can't stand the manager. I hope he proves me wrong and is successful at Spurs, but I find it uncomfortable dropping off and playing defensive against a poor team like Norwich (who were also without their centre forward)

Or... He's simply not a good coach anymore and now gets outplayed by even Farke, not to talk of the much-maligned Solksjaer as well as Lampard and Hassenhtl...

I prefer weak.
Look at Lo celso tonight, you could see he was struggling towards the end, but he kept trying, he was forcing his legs to keep pumping.
The only ones we've got left with that desire and self respect are Harry, dele, Dier and Son.
Most of the rest are pussies looking to coast.
They've taken the spurs don't win trophies narrative and used it as an excuse to stop tryi g.

The perfect post I totally agree.

One thing I can't blame Jose for is our January transfer window; not getting in a defensive minded midfielder is killing us at both ends of the pitch... We can't feel free to attack for fear of the sucker punch, whilst we simply can't ay defensive because we are so easy to walk through and get shots on goal...

Didn’t want him as I feel he is yesterday’s man. But he is here now and he needs the summer window at least try and rectify this mess. But he has to be more adaptable and flexible, especially with tactics. This play chicken style of football isn’t utilised by the successful clubs anymore. The best teams all play at a higher intensity, look sharper and most importantly, play on the front foot and take the game to their opponents. We don’t even do that against relegation fodder.

The biggest surprise to me is how we don’t look solid after half a season under Jose. How hard is it for a man famed for building great defensive sides to get a defensive unit to look more solid?

Absolutely.
My concern -and I am speculating here- is that he is simply not working on attack and is hoping we can "make something happen in the final third".
