Far too premature to draw that conclusion.

It could also be argued that what you witnessed was down to low confidence and a makeshift team due to injuries.

How many minutes has Wanyama played in the last 18 months? His partner was our squads most inefficient technical player. Danny Rose ended up in midfield for goodness sake.

Lets see how we get on once we have Dier and Winks back, when we ditch the three at the back and have a front four of Dele, Eriksen, Son and Kane.

Dier will certainly help, but we've looked meh with that front four AND those other players at times already this season and against teams not set-up as well as Arsenal were today. It was makeshift in the end, but everyone was too slow with passes, most had poor control and hesitancy. Yes, lacking confidence, but also now lacking in stamina, physicality and ideas.

Well, i'm the same age, haven't been to anywhere near as many live, but have watched a fair few on the box etc. Poch takes this game very VERY seriously, especially the home ones. I think under him they've been a good barometer of where the team is at the time.
Sadly, we REALLY look done physically, mentally and tactically. It's sad to see tbh, but the spirit is still there and this is testament to Poch

Much love

I was assuming you was one of our foreign brothers (which you may be)

Well born overseas, but have grown up in London. No half-and-half scarf from a Spurs match is coming my way. Match programmmes do the same job with regards to having mementos etc.

I see they are a great moneyspinner though so i guess their prevalence will increase...

That front four have played no more than a handful of games together this season. I cant instantly recall these ''meh'' games they had but I do recall the last time they all played they tore man utd a new one.

It was makeshift from the start. Wanyama has completed probably no more than half a dozen games in 18 months and zero next to Sissoko.

You're saying we've looked poor at times this season but your initial point was that we're cooked physically as of now. So did this happen yesterday or are you now saying this happened earlier in the season?

You're trying to tell us all that tactically we've been hopeless for sometime and point to mythical games when we've had our best team out and apparently been poor. And as of yesterday we became physically spent based on a display watching a low confidence makeshift team?

Not buying it and we can revisit this in the coming games and we'll see how he we do both tactically and physically WHEN we have something at least close to our best side out.

How is it we look so tired after a 10-day break, coming off one of our most invigorating results, the 3-0 win over Dortmound, which ended a very nice winning streak with Kane absent.

One would have imagined a group of players feeling good about themselves coming back after a well-earned rest and such a result. Excited and motivated about the games ahead.

Instead, we got one of the most disappointing performances of the season at Burnley and a match against Chelsea in which they were utterly desperate to put some bad days behind them.

While there was an improved effort against the Popguns - their goal was more luck than skill - we need to see even better efforts midweek against Dortmund. They might be folding like a cheap suitcase - played their best lineup and still lost at last place Augsburg 2-1 - but we need to see the deal sealed. Bayern now level with them after being seven points back at New Years.

Be interesting to see how strong a squad they field chasing what looks to be a lost cause when they still have the Boundersleague title in reach.

To be honest, we have been poor for a while... I see the United game as the pivotal moment. That was the last game we really played well. So losing so unfairly despite all the dominance, and then Kane picking up his injury, blew the wind out of our sails.

You can say that the Dortmund game was the outlier and even then, we were again slow and ponderous in the first half. We got a great slice of luck when we found the first goal at exactly the right time and that lifted the team to resuscitate our typical game in those 45 minutes.

Which would corroborate the suggestion that our issues are as much, if not more, mental than physical.

One rule change FIFA ought to bring in: time-wasting punished with two extra minutes per offence.
I've said this for years there should be a stop clock of say 10 seconds for goal kicks to be taken once the goalkeeper picks up the ball. If goes over then it's a corner.

First person to pick up the ball when it's a throw in has to take the throw and again there is a stop clock of say 6 seconds for this one and if goes over then throw given to opposition.

Time wasting over.

Just having a couple of slumpy games. Burnley are a clam of a team. Chelsea away we never do well bar 2 games in the last few years. And NLD we outplayed them.

Southampton is our last game for 3 weeks and you will see a revitalised team. Poch and Jesus will know how to handle the players and we could see Dele, and Dier and Winks back.

Not sure what Moura has done to Poch though as he isn't getting a looking at the moment at all even as a sub. Could do with a 100% Moura but he doesn't seem to be in Pochs plans. Did he come on yesterday I was too tinkled to see.

So was the ref as bad with the benefit of tv and replays, as he appeared to be in the flesh at the game yesterday?

Just wondering as reading the reports on the BBC it seems like they are saying we got the benefit from his decisions? I can’t quite wrap my head around that but I’ve not seen any tv footage yet.

If you only consider the red card, Rose not getting one and the penalties it might look like we benefited a little bit, but it's the thirty freekicks we didn't get that was the problem. Especially aggravating when an Arsenal player get a freekick for almost identical fouls seconds later.

There was a series of about 3 high foots from Arsenal players at one point which went unpunished only for the ref to blow up seconds later when one of ours went up high, though that was what i saw from the stands so may well be inaccurate - was in disbelief at some of the decisions from the ref at the game

Very disappointed with this draw. Thought we will lift our game against Arsenal and do enough to win. Instead we failed to lift our game and played poorly for most of the match. At least we got the draw and managed to keep our unbeaten home league record against Arsenal since Pochettino took over. In fact, we have only lost 1 league match to Arsenal at home in the last 10 years and that was under Arsenal fan Sherwood in 2014. We have to thank Lloris for this draw for saving the last minute penalty. But this draw won't help us much as our title race is virtually over and we have been dragged down to fight for the third and fourth place instead.

Well done to Kane for continuing his goal scoring run against Arsenal with a well taken penalty. Too bad he couldn't help us get the winning goal. It was a lucky penalty as Kane appeared offside when he was fouled. Disappointingly apart from the penalty we didn't look like scoring. Kane did score with a good header in the first half but was ruled offside. Eriksen and Sissoko had chances but they shot direct at the goalie while Alderweireld too wasted his chance. Eriksen's miss was really disappointing as he had all the time in the world to beat the goalie but hit it straight to him. Thought Son will score but he was missing for the whole match. I think Lamela should have started this match as he improved our attack after coming on in the second half. In fact, it was Lamela who won us the freekick from which we got the penalty after Kane was fouled. Also Moura should have come on in the second half instead of Llorente, Just like against Chelsea, our attack became toothless after Llorente came on. It shows yet again that Kane and Llorente cannot play together.

Our midfield of Sissoko and Wanyama had a mixed match. They played well in patches but failed to control the midfield fully. Sissoko worked hard as usual but he still needs to improve his finishing. He should have done better with his goal scoring chance when he hit the shot direct at the goalie. Good to see Wanyama starting in midfield after his injury problems but he looked rusty. But it was still strange to see Wanyama taken off in the second half and his midfield duties given to Rose. Thought someone like Sanchez should have played in midfield instead of Rose who made many mistakes.

Our defence had another disappointing match. We conceded yet another soft goal and gave away a soft penalty. Ofcourse both those mistakes were committed by Sanchez who had another error-prone match. Not sure why Pochettino keeps on playing error-prone Sanchez and Foyth in big matches. our defence is compact when we only play Alderweireld and Vertonghen in defence. It was a stupid mis header by Sanchez which resulted in their goal. Not sure why our entire defence were so far away in the first place. Alderweireld and Vertonghen were missing as the Arsenal player went past Wanyama to score the goal. Sanchez was also naive to concede the penalty like that late in the match. The Arsenal player clearly dived but Sanchez gave him the chance by tackling like that. Fortunately for us, Lloris saved the penalty and Vertonghen cleared the follow up. Good to see Lloris saving his second consecutive penalty after also saving Vardy's penalty against Leicester.

So, this is our first league draw of the season after going 28 matches without a draw previously. It is already a new PL record but too bad we couldn't overtake the all-time league record of 30 matches without a draw set by Stoke in 1896. With this draw, we are now winless in 3 matches which have destroyed our chances to win the league. We badly need to get back to winning ways to stay in the top 4 race.
