**Tottenham Hotspur Vs Wigan - Official OMT**

This is only Wigan. We need to freshen things up. Ade looks increasingly disinterested. He is so sure he will be selected whatever he is no longer putting in the shift. At Watford he didnt win a single thing in the air and the amount of offsides he concedes is simply due to laziness and not looking along the line. This is a Defoe fault too - what do they do all week. Same question to the plans for free kicks and corners. A decent coach in this department and we could have another 5-10 goals a year for dead ball situations IMO.

He had one off game in a difficult situation. The entire team looked poor, he got no service and the way we lost against City combined with the Friday night against a smaller team and Harry missing from the training ground was bound to have an effect on some of the players. In his last league game he did fine.

He's performed brilliantly for us all season, his enthusiasm, work rate and energy have been top notch. He played 90 minutes for the entire holiday period and never stopped working.

To say at this point that he looks "increasingly disinterested" and "is no longer putting in a shift" is at the very best premature. Surely this is just people jumping to conclusions based on Ade's history? If he is feeling a bit down at the moment for whatever reason what he needs is a good home game with atmosphere lifting the lads, him starting and the team playing well. Not him being on the bench.

I'd like to see Defoe alongside Ade with VdV on the right in place of Lennon.

The rest of the team picks itself

A solid, moral-boosting performance - 2:0. Rosie with all 3

adebayor has played 90 mins in every game hes played in the league exept everton, arsenal and newscastle, where he played 80+.

hes had several wrongly disallowed goals.

im not in the slightest bit tempted to listen to people suggesting hes finished for the season, after one quiet game against watford.

2-0 vdv defoe. I hate night games in February is so cold, I must be mad going on Wednesday night to see the Nextgen game against English Martyrs

Now that it's almost confirmed that any challenge for the title will be a shy one, there appears less passion towards this fixture. I can imagine the players entering this match without the motivation of challenging for the title. Harry will need to be at his motivational best to ensure we don't leave our foot off the pedal.

What do you base that on? A brick peformance against Watford in the FA Cup? We haven't played a league game since City & there was nothing wrong with the commitment there

Joe reported this morning that both Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe are doubtful with hamstring injuries.

"More team news - Gareth Bale trained today and Sandro is back from injury, but not quite ready for action. Ledley King could also feature."

Where has the injurys thread disappeared to?

Walker needs a rest. I would play Bassong instead of Dawson but Bassong's mind is probably on a move.
Livermore gets a game based on form. Parker is due a rest too.

If Lennon is not fit, I'd like to see Niko start just off Adebayor. That or VdV, with Pienaar coming in for Niko and going wide right.

Am worried about the defence, Dawson looked completely fudged against Watford.

There is absolutely no way in hell that Walker and Parker would play an FA Cup game against Watford if they weren't going to be fit enough to play a PL game 4 days later.

Never anything but bad news in that one. Better off without it I say.

Tottenham Hotspur host Wigan Athletic at White Hart Lane on Tuesday 31st January 2012 in a Matchday 23 Premier League game of the 2011-12 season.

Spurs come into the match in 3rd place in the Table with 46 points, while Wigan are bottom of the Table on 15 points.

This will be the 15th time the two teams have met since Wigan Athletic gained promotion to the Premier League in the 2005-06 season.

Wigan Athletic were formed in 1932 after the demise of Wigan Borough and they gained their Football League status in 1978.

The first meeting between the two clubs came at Wigan's ground in November 2005 and resulted in a 2-1 win for Spurs with goals from Robbie Keane and Edgar Davids. Wigan's goal was scored by Lee McCulloch late in the game.

The reverse fixture at White Hart Lane in February 2006 was a 2-2 draw with Tottenham's goals coming from Mido and Jermain Defoe and Wigan's from Andreas Johansson who had put the Lancashire club ahead twice.

Spurs also took four points off Wigan in the 2006-07 season with a 3-1 home win in November 2006 with goals from Jermain Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov and Aaron Lennon after Wigan's Henri Camara had put the Lattics ahead.

The points were shared in a 6-goal thriller at the JJB Stadium in April 2007 with a goal from Dimitar Berbatov and a Robbie Keane brace for Spurs while Emil Heskey, Leighton Baines and Paul Scharner were on the scoresheet for Wigan.

Tottenham Hotspur once again took four Premier League points off Wigan in the 2007-08 season with a 4-0 win at the Lane in November 2007. Jermaine Jenas scored twice and there were also goals for Aaron Lennon and Darren Bent.

Dimitar Berbatov scored for Spurs in the 1-1 draw at Wigan in April 2008 with Emil Heskey grabbing the equaliser.

The 2008-09 season saw Wigan take four points after a goalless draw at White Hart Lane and a 1-0 win in January 2009 thanks to Maynor Figueroa injury time winner.

Spurs beat Wigan in the FA Cup third round that season 3-1 with a brace of goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and one from Luka Modric. Wigan's goal was scored by Henri Camara.

Maximum points were taken by Spurs in the 2009-10 season after a massive 9-1 home win in November 2009, which saw Jermain Defoe become only the third player after Alan Shearer and Andy Cole to score five goals in a Premier League match. There were also goals from Peter Crouch, Aaron Lennon, Niko Krajcar and David Bentley. Wigan's goal was scored by Paul Scharner. Amazingly enough, Spurs only led 1-0 at half-time and the eight goals scored in the second half by Spurs all came within 39 minutes.

Jermain Defoe's goal and a brace from Roman Pavlyuchenko saw Spurs to a 3-0 win at Wigan in February 2010.

Last season was another good one for Wigan, who took four points off Spurs. They won 1-0 at White Hart Lane in August 2010 with a second half goal from Hugo Rodallega. The match at the DW Stadium was goalless.

The reverse fixture earlier this season in September 2011 resulted in a 2-1 win from Spurs with goals from Rafael van der Vaart after just 3 minutes and Garerth Bale after 23 minutes. Wigan pulled a goal back through Mohamed Diame five minutes into the second half, but had Steve Gohouri sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Overall, Spurs have won 7 of the 14 matches played so far with Wigan winning 2 and 5 matches drawn.

Scott Pareker falling behind there!

Not only did you quote unnecessarily massive post, you mispelt a players name and I'm still not entirely sure what your trying to say.

Welcome to the board! You'll fit in well here! ;)
