I am sure that officials are aware of how things look in slow motion and will take this into account. Presumably they have the option of looking at it in full speed as well.

I know its happened anyway and I think it will increase with the introduction of VAR and as more penalties are given with minimal contact, we already have retrospective action to stop diving to win a penalty where there is no contact and we could extend that if necessary (in the EPL).

Ridiculous. What would be the point? The replay (which barely takes time if you dont have to run over to a screen) gives confirmation. That is the whole reason for VAR in the first place.

We've got the technology and we'll introduce the technology in the way that it has the least benefit.

Ultimately if you or I can look at something and see, yes, theres contact, but not severe - then a professional ref should be able too as well.

Personally I cannot envisage a time where I will not feel emotions when watching Spurs play. I do not think VAR is going to change things to that extreme.

Did you watch the Rochdale game? The only emotion left on that day was pure hatred for the decadence and follies of FIFA
 
VAR in this WC has a group of video refs, so presumably there is some level of consensus when making a VAR call?
But back in league/domestic cup football I guess it will be back to one VAR?
