Maybe the early gift of a goal affected our confidence.That is why I called for a quick start. How many times this season have we had poor first halves? Answer - too many.

Ultimately, I was simultaneously pleased and disappointed with a point. But the crucial thing was not to lose - and we achieved that. Now very important to beat the Gooners on Saturday. Moura should be given at least a half against Newport. He must be fit having trained with PSG all season - and without injury and little game time, should be fresh and raring to go.It is just a question of getting him match sharp. A good half against Newport and he could be ready for a cameo from the bench on Saturday.

I can't believe how difficult it is by some to grasp this concept. You have two camera angles: one shows what appears to be someone throwing a punch and landing one, but the other shows a complete miss. Is it possible that the punch landed when one camera clearly shows it is a miss? You don't have to be a genius to figure this one out.

@Robspur12 I live in the States. People don't follow the PL here and the ones that do are not as heavily vested in their teams. So this is really my only enjoyment.

They didn't dominate us at all. Their manic pressing just caught us in possession a few times. They probably had one other decent chance in the first half aside from the goal (that Dier put in the through ball for). We were on top in the first half without creating chances and the more the game went on and the more tired Liverpool became due to their manic pressing earlier on, the more time we had on the ball t the back, which made it easier for our defence to play out to our midfield and for our midfield to hold the ball and find passes to our forwards who were finding space between their lines. It was only us missing the penalty that put a bit of wind into Liverpool's sails and led them to have just about their only attack of the second half. Had that first penalty not been given I think we would've gone on to win that game 2-1.

I haven't noticed that. I've seen people praise their forwards and consider them a serious rival to our top 4 hopes, which they are. Nothing wrong with admitting other teams are good. Of course people will be more critical of Spurs when we watch our side week in week out and know our faults and positives inside out. We've done well to claw back the gap between us and Pool and Chelsea but even when we were 6-7 points behind Liverpool some said "we'll finish above Pool, it's what we do".

If I recall correctly, we had 60%+ possession in the first half and their goal came from a brainfart in first 3 minutes.

Exactly this. We were ok in the first half. They were marginally better but they weren’t more than a goal better. We had more of the ball, they looked razor sharp when they got it.

Second half we destroyed them. They couldn’t get out. We should have won but I’ll take the draw given how it played out.

Disagree mate, we weren't good offensively (because we moved the ball too slowly), hence the lack of chances.

Pool had what they normally have, a bunch of punted balls over the top to runners that didn't come to anything, how many saves did Lloris have to make in the first half? for the most part the back line snuffed out whatever chances were created by the long ball play.

We worked them enough in the first half that Klopp was forced into subbing the majority of his midfield in the second half. It wasn't a fluid first half performance but at least part of the foundations for the excellent second half were laid there.

For the most part I agree with that. I think by and large, our fans are fairly knowledgeable and level headed, if not a bit pessimistic/realistic but that's what happens when your team underachieves for 20 years. Having said that, we do have a sizeable chunk of the fanbase who have ideas above their stations. When you ask fans of other teams why they don't like Spurs, the common denominator is always our fans, no one hates the way we play football or the way that the club operates. We're the 2nd most hated team in London from my experience, the only reason we are not number 1 is because Chelsea win trophies and have been very successful in the last 15 years.

Liverpool fans are on another level in terms of deludeness granted but we're in the top 10 easily I'd say.

On match day, their fans... incensed and baying at everything all game long no matter what the actual reality of the situation is.

Their manager, jumping about maniacally on the sidelines, crazy creepy incensed grin on his face, running over and sarcastically clapping the ref.... it all starts from him basically.

Then post-match - everyone involved, fans on social media, players and managers in post-match interview..... all the parties, unanimously coming together in a huge ORGY of lack of common-sense, reasoning and grip of basic REALITY.

Liverpool are the biggest club in the world, next year is their year, it's still the 70s and 80s, the entire world is out to get them particularly the London Media, they have The Best Centre Back In The World now...

It's laughable and nonsensical. But luckily the rest of football sees it for what it is, which is why no-one really takes them too seriously anymore.

Nothing to refresh my memory about mate, any team that scores in the first 3 minutes will have better odds of winning the game. I stand by my statement, we held possession and were slow in transition in the first half which meant we failed to threaten them, they had a goal from a mistake and a few half chances. In the second half we put them on the rack.

The two halves

1st - was a slow tempo possession from Spurs with a few breakaway opportunities from Pool's long ball play and use of FBs
2nd - Spurs nullified Pool's wide players, increased tempo of game, played in Pools half and created more opportunities and chances

So one half slightly towards Pool, other half dominantly Spurs.

This is supposed to be a top 4 team?
66% possession to the away side
13 Shots to 9 to the away side (6 to 3 on target, they fudging had 3 shots on goal and got 2 goals)
7 corners to 3 to the away side
The only edge they had was on fouls

Other than playing City, no top 6 side should be that lopsided in stats at home, unless you are saying Klopp's was actually trying to park the bus against us?
