Standard's website say that he was homesick and that he had too much competition for that LB spot.

His rival for the LB spot btw was Jelle Van Damme lol

Only worry now is whether they decide to get even. With their pulling power, they could really dingdong us around if they wanted to.

Not that they already haven't in the past, mind.
 
Not sure I really get this tbh, we have enough players at the club who can play lb to a high standard. And even before there was any hint of him leaving, a lot of the Man utd fans who saw him thought he was pretty average.

Anyway, hope he turns out to be great!

I think he wanted to leave. Possibly for financial reasons. Seem to remember Fergie saying something about wanting to play for United and putting faith in his ability to bring through players.

Paul Pogba also gave Fergie the finger over summer and is currently doing a pretty good job as stand in for Pirlo/Vidal/Marchisio as Juve top the table!

yeah, Man Utd fans didnt really see this as a loss really. It's rare SAF gets it wrong. When was the last time they released a youngster and he went on to do better things?

Quite a few of them were tinkled off with Morrison and Pogba. Though Morrison seems like an absolute dingdong.
