Agreed. Thats what I would do; the only risk would be that he goes somewhere, plays regularly and still doesnt score many. We'd probably then only be able to flog him for less than we can today. I could understand it if we decided to take the offer on the table, particularly if its more than we paid for him as rumoured

Yes, I think we'll get Gomes. Bit disappointed that it doesnt look like we'll get a pacey attacker but Llorente is an unexpected addition which could be an excellent move

I'd be surprised if we did. If anything, maybe Gomes from Barca, but it seems like things have quieted down somewhat. Sissoko was a super late arrival last year though, so who knows. Maybe we're signing Redmond or someone this year.
All of the transfers this window has been called long before they were announced though, so would be geniunly surprised if we signed anyone other than Gomes.

Gomes was playing for Portugal till about 15-20 mins ago so conceivable that his advisors needed to speak to him before a deal was done. Would be good if we could get it done - young international player with some big club experience
