    Everybody knows this is nowhere.
So last summer I was diagnosed with cancer of the small intestine. Unfortunately it had already spread to my liver by the time it was found. Despite excellent care by the much maligned American medical system, a years worth of chemotherapy and immunotherapy have failed to work. This week I took a decision to cease any further treatment.
In reality this means that I will be gone in six months or less. I am sanguine, everyone has his time. It's difficult at 55 with two teenage kids but it is what it is.
I am writing this for two different reasons. One is to say, enjoy every minute, you never know what is coming. The second is to say how much I have enjoyed to this board. Thanks to each and everyone of you that makes to his possible. I'll keep on posting as long as I am able. COYS!!!

That is a very sad and emotional post to read @Yermiyahu, and I know no words will help or diminish the force of what you are accepting for yourself but I can say from the bottom of my heart that all my best wishes are with you and your family that you can use all your remaining time to love people, be loved and leave your lasting imprint on the planet for you to be remembered by.

I also hope that miracles happen, and I do so in this case.

It doesn't matter if you have religion, but I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

I hope we continue to hear from you for a long time to come. Lots of love from The Barbarian.

That's so sad to read mate.

But you're so brave to write it.

This will be 'Your' thread from now on, so anytime drop in with even the smallest, biggest or maddest thoughts you have.

Strength to your family and hopefully you get to see the boys in lily-white one more time.

fudge, that's a tough post to read.

Nothing I can add that others haven't really, other than don't go starting and OMTs in the near future - you might get stuck with the avatar.

Sorry to hear that @Yermiyahu you must have a completely different perspective on the world given your situation. I for one will take on board any posts you find time to write on here with a renewed sense of appreciation.

It's a cliche but any insight you have into how we should be moving on post this Covid BS will be welcomed.

I hope you enjoy your time to the max, eat what you want, drink what you want and hopefully Spurs will make you proud when they start playing again.

That is very sad news @Yermiyahu and very brave of you to come to that decision. My thoughts are with you and yours.
Cherish the time you have left with your family. Do as much as you can/want to. Regale your kids with stories of Spurs of days gone by!
Stay strong if you can (but don't feel you have to be strong all the time).
Pop back in here from time to time if you feel up to it.
Wishing you all the best x.

wow. That was tough to read! I have tears in my eyes! Very sad to hear that treatment so far has not worked, but I urge you to keep on fighting, if there is any strength left in you! There is always hope, and things can suddenly change. Regardless, take care of yourself and your family, and cherish every minute! And again, I strongly advice you to reconsider. Take care buddy!

So sad to read your post, life is so brick !!
You're 400% correct in what you say about make the most of what you can while you can
I had the most ridiculous row with my Mrs last night and this morning over nothing, first thing I will do after finishing this post is go give her a hug and say sorry for being a douche
Genuinely hope your remaining time is as fulfilling and pain free as it can be
    Much love

Truly sorry to read this @Yermiyahu, I wish you and the family all the best and hope you get the time together to do the things not done, and say the things not said.

That and a Wilko Johnson style recovery of course.

Should we ever get to another final, I'll swamp the OMT with enough "safe-ish for the Google ad revenue" custard based WAM pictures to make even Tom Jones go weak at the knees, in your honour.

    Take care matey.

Absolutely nothing I can add other than to celebrate the power of the internet and the efforts of everyone that lets this place exist - it has allowed all of us to connect as people from across the globe with a shared interest of something trivial.

    Lots of love @Yermiyahu

Truly sorry to read this. A truly brave post and I was choked to read it.

I’m sure I join this board to discuss the seemingly important merits of 4231 vs 442 and for fantasy transfer windows, but reading your post and feeling the way I do about it has reinforced my belief that the ‘virtual’ connections made on this board go beyond the simple connection supporting of Spurs.

I hope we get to see many more posts from you and we can collectively support you in any way way you need.

Wow. I'm truly sorry to hear of the circumstances and applaud your bravery in terms of the decision you have come to (as well as posting on here).

I don't think anything we can say on here can make much of a difference but maybe we could do something that'd be of assistance to people in your situation in the future? Some kind of fundraising page or the like.

I hope you have the full support and love of your family behind you in your "real" life. For what it's worth, from people posting it's clear you have the very same from your more custard influenced Spurs supporting Tom Jones worshipping family on here.
