Spurs v Woolwich Official OMT.

Really disappointed about this defeat to Arsenal. This is our first defeat at home to Arsenal since 2007 which is all the more annoying. IMO, we didn't show the effort needed in a derby against Arsenal. Arsenal looked very poor but we didn't look any better either.

Despite dominating most of the match, it was disappointing we only had 2 shots on target, 1 of which was a fortunate chance for Chadli which he should have scored. We didn't even test the error-prone Arsenal goalie too much. Expected more effort from Adebayor against his former team. But he didn't contribute much to the team. Thought Soldado will come on and make an impact but it was not to be.

It was annoying to concede so early in any game, more so in an important match. Our defence simply can't seem to keep a clean sheet nowadays. It was a great goal but we should have stopped Rosicky from having that shot. Also, found it strange Kaboul was made the team captain despite not playing much this season. Thought someone more regular like Vertonghen, Sandro or Lloris should have been the captain.

I think Sherwood has to take large parts of the blame. It seems most of the players don't seem to react to his instructions. Also, thought Sherwood should have started a more experienced players like Lennon and Paulinho, instead of Townsend and Bentaleb. Lennon especially should have started as he has such a good record against Arsenal. Lennon should have atleast come on for the ineffective Townsend later in the match. Thought Paulinho should have come in for Bentaleb instead of Sandro.

With this defeat, it will be almost impossible for us to finish in top 4 now. Just can't see any of the top 4 dropping many points in their remaining matches.

I am still baffled by how simple it could've been.
Play Townsend on the left. Play Eriksen in the hole. Play Chadli (or why not Lennon FFS?) on the right?
Sigh...I liked Tim more when it was 'run around a bit'...his recent attempts at tactical wizardry have been largely unnecessary. Simple shifts, simple changes was all it needed...

It was worrying how they seemed to fe able to open us up. Chamberlain spurned a few good breaks.

We didn't open them up, it was more just get the ball near their box and see what happens.

One thing though, we have are far more athletic and physical than them

It was Sandro at the beginning that was causing us more problems than their players,he was playing far too up in the first 15 minutes ,it was him who gave the ball away that put Rose in no mans land, that gave Rosicky the freedom of the pitch......then Chamberlain chance, Benteleb needed to clear the ball out and clear out Chamberlain if needed, but he didn't.

It showed on sky ,Les shouting blue murder at Sandro telling him to stay back, his position should the area of the center circle,he should be seeing the opposition coming at him not chasing them ,if he chasing players in their own half it means he's too far up and quite often he looses out due to his lack of pace. Rose needs to hold up on his runs too,i don't understand why he bombs up the line in the first ten minutes, the consequence is what happened Sunday, totally out of position and struggling to get back and giving the opposition time and space.

It seems sometimes we have no discipline and a bit of football intelligence in where to be on the pitch at certain times of the game.....
