It’s in Dolby Vision & Dolby Atmos too, so is an absolute audio and visual tossfest!

Over the last few weeks I have enjoyed this show so much that I am gutted that this is the last season. Heck, now I only have 5 episodes left then it is all over :(

I have a feeling it will return, there is too much money to be made.

    Classic marketing!

I have heard there may be a prequel, but my gut tells me it will not be back, particularly these characters.

What I have garnished from cast interviews is that they have loved played these characters but it is time to move on.

Besides, as much as I will miss this show I think it is great that it ends after 8 excellent seasons, before the law of diminishing returns sets in.

The Prequal is 1000's years prequel so not the same characters but ones in legend - will mean more sorcery etc.

Yes, I say leave them wanting more......Then I think Star Wars, which I've enjoyed immensely. Yes, they are definitely not cerebral masterpieces but I've enjoyed them all the same. Another due later this year I believe.

I can, as you say, see a prequel or some such thing or a film maybe?

With all the insufferable superhero comic rubbish that's have been churned out, I can see the money guys passing on the GoT franchise.

Are these based on any books?

My fear is GoT gets the superhero rap and becomes meh!

HBO are quite good about walking away - its taken 11 years for them to do a Sopranos film and no the Wire prequel or sequel as of yet.

No- well not lifted directly, you may get the story of the first starks mentioned in the books but not in any depth. Branden the builder for example is mentioned but I wouldn't say you could base anything on the mentions.

(*I think it will be poor - as will the LOTR series and I love both of these)

There's only 8 left from the original cast, and I doubt the majority of them will survive this series

As in the half developed ideas that the author never really bothered to do anything with, but will get mined to death anyway.

It happened with the James Bond short stories after they made all the books into films too (Octopussy, Living Daylights etc.).
