I take it you've never been to Leeds then?

Otherwise you wouldn't wish that on your worst enemy

Ha! Had a mate work up there who would share your view.

I was thinking purely in football terms, could do a lot worse than have a player working in the Championship, at a club pushing promotion, in a Biesla system...

I suppose you could live in Hebden Bridge and helicopter in and out. A bit like the Anzhi Makhachkala players used to from Dagestan

What part have you been to? Pudsey doesn't count

It's deprived, aggressive, ugly and completely devoid of culture

It makes sense as the systems and styles are the same.

KWP next season would be a start

Yes. He's too old now. He has to be one of our two RBs or sold. Otherwise is career is derailing even more

Most of it. I've been up there on work a fair bit and way back had a couple of girlfriends who lived there.

Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke has been heavily linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the past week but is the 18-year-old ready for the step up?

Spurs have been keeping a close eye on the teenager, with scouts present at many of his matches this season in the Championship.

Clarke has enjoyed a breakthrough season under Marcelo Bielsa. He started four matches in the Championship but came off the bench 21 times for Leeds, including coming on late in both play-off semi-final matches as Leeds ultimately lost out to Derby.

Despite claims that a deal has been done with some bookmakers suspending betting on the transfer, football.london understands that Tottenham's move for Clarke is not at an advanced stage.

However, there is clear interest there, but whether it is in the form of a straight transfer or a loan-back move could well depend on the price tag Leeds place on Clarke's head.

We spoke to Leeds United editor Joe Mewis at Leeds Live to give us the full rundown on the talented young player.

"Jack Clarke was one of several promising Leeds United youngsters to break through last season as he began to fulfil the promise that has has shown rising through the ranks in the club's various academy sides," he said.

"Fast, direct, positive and fearless, Clarke's play on the right wing was stunning at times last season, with his first league start in the 2-0 January win over Derby County showing exactly what he could do.

"He is never afraid to take his man on but one criticism is that his decision making does need work, which is perhaps understandable given his lack of experience. Stamina was another question mark, with his best displays often coming from the bench."

He added: "The momentum he was building was checked in February, when he fell ill on the bench at Middlesbrough and after a layoff he only made passing cameo appearances off the bench, but there should be nothing to worry about there going foward.

"That said, he would undoubtedly benefit from another year in the Championship where he could get a full season under his belt."

And what about that price tag?

"His promise will bring about suitors and Leeds United will know offers are likely, but it would be a huge surprise if they were to entertain bids of less than £15million," explained Mewis.

"Leeds have lost plenty of promising young talents over the past decade, with the likes of Fabian Delph and Lewis Cook going on to play for England, but the club was in a far worse state, financially and in terms of ambition when they both jumped ship.

"Should Clarke resist offers this summer then there is a good chance he could be playing Premier League football in a year's time and the chance to work under as respected a coach as Marcelo Bielsa will not come around too often in his career, which will surely play a part in his decision making."

I'm a bit concerned that he looks like a winger, rather than a Son-like inside forward. He's obviously young, but does he have the goal threat needed for that role?
