Football Trivia Question of the Day

Tuesday 26th February 2013:

What short-lived item of kit did Leeds United FC introduce in the 1972-73 season?

They put little tags in their socks didn't they? Little yellow flat tassles that hung down from the sock fold.

Yes, Don Revie introduced numbered sock tie-ups after seeing them on a cub scout's uniform.

They were usually throw to the crowd at the end of a match.

Leeds United had the sock tie-ups as part of their kit from 1972-73 to 1976-77 and several other clubs also adopted them during this period.
