    Start with the trains.

Competition in the deal helps the clubs not the customer .

First thread I came across that looked a good place to post this.
French football apparently in trouble. The TV deal has collapsed worth€800m a year. Apparently the company that had were banking on 3.5m subscribers but got 600 000.
Might be some bargains in January in France.

Thought BT had similar issues here with over predicting how many viewers they would get.

Cherki at Lyon is highly rated. Think Dembele would certainly be off.

Soumare from Lille would be a great option to take over from Sissoko. Morgan Sanson from Marseille could also be a good option for us\

Premier League clubs have agreed to give away tens of millions more a year to lower-league teams in return for Government approval of its surprise plan to roll over its UK television rights deals.

As exclusively revealed by the Daily Telegraph, the world’s richest league has been seeking to extend its contracts with Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon on broadly the same three-year £4.5billion terms currently in place.

The Premier League usually holds a money-spinning auction for those rights but the coronavirus crisis compounded fears doing so for the 2022-25 seasons could spark a significant fall in their value.

The Government has been consulted over the rollover plan, which other broadcasters could seek to challenge on competition grounds, and was prepared to give its blessing provided top-flight clubs significantly increased solidarity payments to the rest of the English game to help it recover from the financial impact of the pandemic.

At a meeting to discuss the demand, the clubs agreed to give away a reported £100million on top of the £420m they were already set to pay the English Football League during the next three-year cycle.

An announcement of the deal could be made as soon as Thursday.

A few chairmen will be breathing a sigh of relief today.
Expectations last year were that it was going to drop. The £100m to the lower leagues (although not much in the scheme of things) will help out a bit.

I had to do a double take when they said it would allow more money to flow down the football pyramid. The was an idea for that recently that was completely criticised by everyone.

People really need to decide what they want

Don't know of anyone complaining about money going to the football pyramid. In either project big picture or the esl.

Well if you were against the esl you were against money going down the leagues. Money is generated by big matches on TV.

Is like people having a go at the bankers for earning lots of money but not realising they pay more tax then peoplein low paid jobswho don't pay tax.

If the plebs want money they should have let it flow down, in future years they will get more of an old man's wee. A trickle.

What are you even talking about? No esl money, yet money is going down the leagues. Just you because you like 1 part of something doesn't mean you like everything about it and vice versa. If you like one disney film doesn't mean you like them all.
