Yet another ineffective performance from him, and he doesnt seem to fit in to Jose's team.

If Mourinho wants to play with two quick men out wide, we need a creator in the no 10 role. That isn't Dele.

Tempting to cash in....though given his performances over the last 12 months, the price which we'd get is far lower than a couple years ago

    Really frustrating player

I thought his first half was promising.

Do we know why he went off yet?

Not a playmaker, not a central midfielder, not a striker...What is he again? It's been such a long time since he had a good game I cannae remember.

Gotta love doing a high risk no gain flick in an innocuous area of the pitch when we've got 32 percent possession, it's a great party trick.

He was one of our better players first half

Mourinho went for a tactic he himself said backfired

Boreinho got his move wrong today

Always played as a second striker that plays off the end of chances ghosting into the box. His chance today an example

Worry for me is more that his end product was a result of Eriksens peak assists seasons, we have never replaced that

    Ottawa, actually.
He was crap today, but Sissoko was worse by an order of magnitude as his replacement.

And that's why we shouldn't sell him. Anyone we buy will be worse, because Levy and his henchman Steve Hitchen have no f*cking clue.

    Not the time IMO
He was playing a 10 today but doesn’t have the passing range for that. He kept on thing things though and I was really surprised he was subbed
I say that was one who can’t see how he fits in but I wouldn’t over react
We have loads of games too for him to play

The Eriksen point is key. Dele works as a no 10 if you have a creator in one of the wide forward roles, but with two pacey wingers there we have zero creativity in the front 4

You can count the number of decent games which he's had in the last two years on one hand

He has to be in the 3 up there not at 10
Today he was neither as Moura didn’t play wide right attack... he played as an extra midfielder that first half

To be fair I think that is Jose’s system - 3-2-4-1 in possession, with Alli and Moura both playing centrally. Personally I would like to see Lo Celso play in Moura’s position - I know lots of people think he’s better at CM, but I think he’s the closest thing to a no.10 that we have.

Moura was never a 10 today
He hugged the right side of midfield until half time and then he kind of flopped around the pitch

You said yourself 'Moura didn’t play wide right attack' - I was just agreeing that he played more centrally than that, and saying that it's by design in Jose's system.

    Yeah it was
    It’s brick
Moura isn’t great at that and we make an attacker
People think we played 4-2-3-1 but we played 4-3-1-2 and it was actually starting to work before he took Dele off

Alli is not the problem, we miss Eriksen and it showed just how much to day. We have no one who can create chances like he did and until we fill that hole in the team we will struggle to make the most of the players we have. Its as simple as that.

Well he kind of is if he was only able to achieve that form off the back of Eriksen's performances. We don't have Eriksen now and we may not ever have a direct replacement in style for him. So if Dele can only hit those heights an Eriksen it is something we need to at the least consider.

Do we setup a team to get the best of Dele or does he need to adapt to what we do have?
