West Ham eye new Emirates Marketing Project transfer deal to hang onto loanee Joe Hart next season
The England keeper's spell with the Hammers has seen some wobbly moments but they have been impressed too

West Ham could keep Joe Hart beyond this season.

The England keeper, who turned 31 this week, is nearing the end of a year-long loan from new champions Emirates Marketing Project, but we understand the Hammers are interested in holding onto him.
Hart is still hoping to make England's World Cup squad this summer but had an evening to forget this past Monday, as — with Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate in the stands — his late error helped struggling Stoke grab a point at the London Stadium.

But in the two preceding games, away to outgoing champion Chelsea and at home against fellow relegation candidates Southampton, Hart was outstanding as David Moyes' side earned four points — a haul has helped them inch away from the drop zone.

Vastly experienced Hart has also impressed boss Moyes with his professional response to being dropped in favour of Adrian at mid-season, which led to him missing 13 games.

West Ham visit Arsenal this Sunday and are refusing to take safety for granted despite sitting 14th, seven points above the drop zone, with five games to play.

They are open to a deal being struck with City — who loaned Hart to Italians Torino for last season as he does not fit Pep Guardiola's style of play — to extend his stay in London.

Moyes is boring but gets his team working hard which is half the battle for WHU. If he gets them some mid table stability then that really should be considered a success. It'll keep the hordes away from the owners too which is what they are desperately looking for.

Hart is pants though.

Please do! I actually think his record on transfers is patchy at best. He seems to be more successful when on a tighter budget.

Id love him to bog them down some more.

It really shouldnt.

They moved into that stadium with the aim of pushing for CL places. 60k seats, for which they pay peanuts, on top of the premier league riches.

Midtable is not success for them.

Reality is, they are brick, so it would be a good return all things considered - BUT - they shouldnt be brick given their resources etc. Its self inflicted, which doesnt mitigate the fact they should be doing much better than mid table.

Aside from which, Moyes is, IMO, a busted flush. He will only ever be at best average (if he gets there) and at West Ham I doubt he would get time to go that far.
 
I think Moyes was damaged by his United experience and perhaps this carried over to Sunderland. Given what he did at Everton on a budget I can see why the troika would want to give him another chance. Safe midtable/chasing Europa League would satisfy the owners, if not the fans.

You can argue that Moyes always did enough at Everton to keep the focus off Kenwright. Only when he left did the disenchantment become more pronounced.

Im actually someone who thinks he should have done a lot better at Everton, and that his reputation there is greatly over stated.

Cant argue against him keeping everyone quiet though.

It is all relative. CL spots are and always were a pipe dream for WestHam IMO. When their fans were eyeing the move to their new stadium and the porn barons were whispering sweet nothings in their ears the thoughts of mid-table moyescurity would not have been contemplated. Now that doesn't look so bad. The club is a mess from top to bottom and going down would be nothing short of a disaster in that stadium of all places. If I was a hammer I would gladly take a few years of stability over the pantomime show that is going on now on and off the pitch.
 
Regardless of whether Moyes is given "control" of transfers, I can't see Sullivan being able to keep his nose out. Nor him or Gold or Brady stepping out of the media limelight.
How anyone is supposed to manage the team with that circus going on is beyond me.
