I think this bit is absolutely right. The physio is spot on. But I also think Jose's attitude is spot on. They're both doing what they're supposed to do - it's just a natural level of conflict that should exist in my view and hopefully you end up in a position where you get the right balance most of the time.

Yeh I agree, I am no Mourinho fan but I get his POV. I just think its right that he is superseded by the Physio when it comes to welfare.

I watched alot of the show again and what I did like about Mourinho was his continued insistence on the meteorology change, to win, to be winners and more nasty.

This part for me is the biggest bonus of having Jose here, we all loved Poch and i will always be thankful for what he did here but there is no doubt IMO that we lacked a winners meteorology under him and not many clubs achieve trophys without it.

My big question mark with Jose is as much as he is proclaimed a tactical master if he has that part in his locker or at least with a club like ours where he needs it more than he would have at others. My worry is if he does not people will give him a pass and say it was the Spurs environment that caused it where he does need to achieve things in my opinion,

Maybe but i am pretty sure that those players who do not/can not take his message on board will not be around for long. He is a winner ( he has proved it wherever he has been) and the winning meteorology comes from the manager down through to the players, alas Poch for all he done here ( and it was massive) failed to get that instilled into his players.

I am sure there will be some on here who will dismiss it ( i have mentioned the importance of a winning meteorology on here before and was shouted down for it) but all the major winning teams have it and until we achieve it we will struggle to be serial winners.

Love seeing that, i have always said keepers should not be Capt but Lloris went up a notch in my estimation of him. Great to see as every winning team HAS to have a dressing room full of that emotion.

But can he train lesser players with that right mindset to be better players, its a double threat, get better players to think like winners but he also has to coach with what he ends up with come close of the window. Players that want to be winners but need to be coached up levels, thats where my question mark lies.

But on the positive and to the point I like his winning speeches

From my experience from coaching and playing it not always possiable to get a team of 11 all having the winning meteorology to drive the team along in a vocal way, but you need every player to take it on board that there is no excuse for failing and have the desire to run through brickwalls to obtain success. The best teams have that and you only have to look back to see the success those that have it have achieved.

As I said previously, all part and parcel of the bigger picture of where all this is heading. Spurs looking to smash all commercial outlets

I don't understand though... the Amazon site just has a tiny selection of crap products. Not the full Monty.

Its all about access and brand association as well as building on the existing relationship. The clubs moving to hugely to be huge in North America, its just another dot joined

I don't think Dier threatened to train at home or (far worse) call his team mates brick.

I've seen/read three or four interviews with Rose over the last couple of years. In two of them he's been a clam to his team mates.

A lot on here questioned what Hugo brought to the party as captain. I think we’ve seen in the last few episodes and in this clip why he’s the captain. Fair fudges to him.

Based on this clip, Jose managed that brilliantly too. Dealt with it head on and turned it into something positive rather than shirking it or berating Son and Lloris.

There was quite a very different context to the purpose of each meeting though, so I don’t think you can compare Dier to Rose in this instance.
And yes, I did feel a bit uncomfortable with the slating of an (un named) team mate. But again, context. If he’s being told he’s dropped because he’s not playing well enough, it’s natural in a 1:1 with a manager (whatever the industry) he’d refer to other players:colleagues not performing well but continuing to be selected.

I think that, given it's the second time he's publicly been a prick to his teammates, it's more of a character issue.

Rose has been a decent player but not nearly good enough to risk the disharmony in the squad a prick like that can cause.

Absolutely not, I've sat in meetings on the end of a gonad*ing and the last thing you ever do is throw others under a bus to justify your own lack of performance. If you know you haven't been on your straps you take it and improve and test your managers integrity to acknowledge the improvement. Saying I've been guff but so has he for me show lack of maturity 400%.

I've told many of my team the same and worked with younger people who have taken that on board and strived to be better. Not slag a colleague
