It is so easily noticeable that the people who were anti Mourinho from the start pick on anything to try and criticise him. Don’t make out like Kane missing a load of games is because of what Mourinho wants, he was consistently getting injured for months well before Mourinho was here.....

    Oblivious, perhaps...

I think he has (had) the belief that given a run of games he could regain his form and again be good enough to be a regular starter.

I'm guessing part of the frustration is that that belief is fading. Mourinho coming in could have been a fresh start, a new chance, but at the time of the conversation that hope too was dissapearing.

I quite like that confidence bordering on being oblivious. I think it's helped Rose in the past, helped him become the excellent player he once was. It causes some problems for him and the club now, but that's the way it has to be. Players need that belief to work hard in training every day, take care of themselves, stay away from all of the temptations of life that footballers should abstain from.

If that belief, that oblivious confidence, goes, that's truly the end.

    It really is not.
Unless you wilfully are twisting what you see to fit an agenda...ah.
    As you were.

Both these are spot on, i can understand fans not wanting certain types here as a manager/player but for fudgeS sake lets drop the agendas and try and get behind a guy who ( as far as i can see) has already improved us from the mess he inherited.

Did anyone else think it interesting how - I’m trying to think of the right word here - fragile / unsure Coco seemed about his body / injuries?

Probably not that surprising, given how many he’s been through, but really seemed like he was second guessing his body and tormented by it. Poor guy.

That and that his English still isn’t very good! Ha!

I see it both ways as a yet to be convinced Mourinho person.

His flippant attitude to the Physio like he did not respect his diagnose was abit off for me, HOWEVER even as a non Mourinho fan the pressure to field a fall team is huge as was to hit top 4 which was clear in this doc. Also we have nothing to judge him by in terms of how other managers act, lets not pretend Fergie was not fielding injured lads with injections to win game....

I didnt have too much issue with the Rose v Mourinho bit, like someone said loads of player manager meetings happen up and down the country and they deal with it, seems fans are the ones that struggle with how they compute what they see behind closed doors. I have sat in boardrooms where worse is said and we crack on after and deal with work.

BUT The im going to Daniel bit was childish

Seems to me like he was being honest and not going behind José’s back. And ultimately Daniel makes the decisions that impact finances. But rose can never win. If he hadn’t said that some would say he was sneaky.

I have to say I need convincing that the guy taking to him should be lead physio
I swear he took a selfie with son when telling him he needs and X-ray in his elbow
Plus he has no gravitas to deal with the the egos a manager brings. He needs to grow a pair like the lady did at chelsea

Are there physios with gravitas? im yet to know a superstar physio and where is she for fighting back?

TBH I think you prove a point, the game is above the science, she lost her job and which physio is going to win a fight against a manager who need to field a side.

Years of players and managers telling him unfit players are fit

TBH I liked his players welfare is paramount above all and saving them from themselves and managers....

I don’t know how someone can live in a country for years and have a poor grasp of the language of the country you live in. That isn’t a slight on Lamela, my girlfriend’s family are Chinese. Some of them have lived here for the best part of 40 years and still speak little to no English. Surely you pick a lot of it up by listening and hearing certain words frequently?

    Ottawa, actually.
Not particularly. I live in a basically bilingual part of Canada, where you have the Anglophone Ottawa on one side of the river, and the fully Francophone Gatineau on the other side of the river - the provincial border between Ontario and Quebec is midway across the bridges on the river.

Folks have lived in Ottawa and gone to work in Gatineau for 40 years, and still know next to no French. 'Hello Bonjour', 'comment ca va?', and 'oui/non' are about the limit, despite living and working in a functionally bilingual place and often working for the federal government, which necessitates a level of conversational French for the majority of positions in the area.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is that your home environment really factors into whether you learn the language or not, and just listening to random people speak it often makes next to no difference. If you use English at home to communicate and in the majority of your day-to-day interactions, the few words you need to know in French to just subsist will make no difference - you're still functionally unilingual. Same thing with immigrant families, who tend to speak their home language at home a lot.

When I moved here, I kept getting advised to get a Quebecois girlfriend, since it was the quickest, cheapest and most engaging way to learn French. I suppose the principle equally applies to Lamela, and immigrants more broadly. ;)

Expert opinion that tells you simply a player cannot play with the type of injury the diagnostic tools have uncovered.

    And that to be respected.

I think that bit did come across as childish BUT he may not of meant it in a 'im going to tell Daniel I'm not happy with you' type of way, but in a 'i can see.my time is done here I need to know what my options are and/or to initiate the first steps to getting out of here'?

The amazing thing is , physically he looks tuned to perfection. He must work at that so hard considering he's working around an injury most of the time.

But every injury he picks up is in training so something isn’t quite right
Even the one on here is that. He is in his own words as fit as he has ever been and he gets a thigh strain half an hour in.... that’s crazy to see a player get injured in training so consistently
