Circus ManUnitus - Erik's At The Wheel

Dutch managers haven't done well in the PL, but have done well elsewhere in Europe. Ten Hag might suit Bayern better. Look how Eric Dier has gone from player who didn't fit and/or not good enough to the verge of a CL final. There is also the dysfunctionality of United.

    Champions League 23/24

To me it looks like the head of the #4 is offside, but it's bizarre the linesman flagged such a close call rather than leaving it to VAR. They usually don't flag some quite blatant offsides. Replacing Kane with another striker is strange. He's actually an effective defender of set pieces...

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

About twenty years ago Levy outlined a long-term plan to develop a world class training facility, build a world class stadium and have the team competing for titles. The first two have been delivered. He's fallen a bit short on the competing for titles, but we have been to a champions league...

Circus ManUnitus - Erik's At The Wheel

As a manager, regardless of my head shape or hirsuteness, I'd be more worried about a player shopping a fellow player. It says a lot about the team spirit.

    Former Player Appreciation Thread

Interesting to look at the fate of the players in the Ajax semi-final. Only two survivors. https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/may/08/five-years-on-epic-ajax-tottenham-champions-league-match-where-are-they-now

    Manager Sack Watch

They were doing well until the uncertainty over Moyes' contract arose. It's never good when the players know a manager is going.

    Championship and EFL Football

The form of the teams in the Championship playoffs are poor. Leeds have lost four of six with one win, Southampton and West Brom had lost three in a row until winning the last, while Norwich failed to win any of their last three games

    Europa League 23/24

If I understand the rules, they can still lose six games and call themselves invincibles.

    Rule changes in football

So they play eight matches each to eliminate 12 teams from 36 team pseudo-league. Then 16 have play-offs for the round of 16. Better to skip that play-off round. 16 qualifiers from 36 would add more jeopardy to the group stage and make more games matter.

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

While I assume the question meant move on and forget the argument, moving on to Saudi Arabia seems more likely. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/apr/27/mohamed-salah-jurgen-klopp-row-going-to-be-fire-liverpool

Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

Very difficult to follow a legend. The fans will turn on him at the first sign of trouble. If Salah decides to go to Saudi, he could have a good transfer budget, which will help him assert his style, but also means important players may need time to settle. He could be their Moyes, although I...
